cataracts b.c. of long-term steroids
Does anyone know what the symptoms of cataracts developing are, after long-term use of inhaled steroids and/or prednisolone? I've heard cataracts are common symptoms, and I wonder how one knows one is developing them. I've been on Trimbow 172.5 for 6 months and on 2 mg prednisone for 2.5 years; prior

Lab Tests Indicate High Lipase
Has anyone taking prednisone and Actemra had a high lipase on their routine lab tests. I’m on 4 mg prednisone and bi-weekly injections of Actemra for GCA. I get lab tests every month, and the past several months Lipase is high (usually around 60-70). I’ve done a CT scan with the dye, and was told

I have recently been prescribed the above medication to reduce my ocular pressure due to complications during

Seeking Advise
Last week I underwent eye
surgery
to remove a
cataract
from both eyes. The
surgery
went well, though it is obviously a stressful situation as anyone can imagine, including the aftercare with lots of eye drops throughout the day.

Stopped Actemra, new questions
Hi community, I decided to stop Actemra after 1 year so I am not on so many drugs. I was concerned about the risk of infections, diverticulitis, etc. I figured that so many people have done this with only Prednisone, that I can too. Here's what has happened since. I stopped Actemra 1 month ago. I

Medication change prior to surgery?
I’m wondering if it is a good idea to increase my prednisone dose ahead of
cataract
surgery
next week?. It’s expected to be a routine and ‘non invasive ‘ procedure but all the same sure to be hard body. I’m on 6mg prednisone and started at 60mg for GCA just over four years ago.

diabetic macular oedema or not!
I went for my review at the eye clinic today and the doctor there said she couldn’t understand why my right eye was not improving but my right eye had. She also said that it was strange as my blood sugars were very well controlled. She went off to speak to a consultant and the result of that was I am

Cataract surgery imminent
I have
cataract
surgery
scheduled for next Wednesday 1st February for both eyes. It is being done privately at a hospital nearby and the opthalmic surgeon is very experienced and has a very good reputation. I have GCA and am currently taking 35 mg of prednisolone daily.

Cataract Laser Treatment
Within the last 18 months I have had cataracts removed in both eyes, all of a sudden my sight deteriorated! I went back to the hospital who then told me I needed Laser treatment in both eyes! My problem is I have now been on Hydroxychloroquine 400mg for 7 years and I feel worried 😟 that the drug is

Post Pred motivation?
Add to that, two weeks ago I had
cataract
surgery
in my right eye and that would add to the "stress load" placed on my somewhat deficient adrenal system. Add to that further, within two days of of my final 0.5 of Pred my ages old persistent right hip joint started playing up again.

Tikosyn/Dofetilide
Just spent 2 1/2 day in hospital to get Tikosyn dosage right and get heart back into sinus rhythm. It Worked! I feel great. I using the generic Dofetilide. Much cheaper. I lost 7 1/2 lbs. on the bland meals. I call it "The Hospital Diet". 😊

BEWHARE OF THESE MEDS
Having had
cataract
surgery
and implants my vision was never supposed to change. Both of these meds list VISION IMPAIRMENT as a side effect. Intrarosa lists a few side effects which are nebulous and I was foolish to not read further to see the listing of eye problems.

GCA and Ear Swelling, Pressure
Can GCA cause ear swelling ? I have GCA and constant ear pressure, soreness. My general practitioner couldn’t find any thing that would cause it, nor could an ear-nose-throat doctor. Even did a hearing test and all said everything is good. Would this be a flare? I’m on Actemra and 4 mg prednisone

Actemra; The elephant in the room. Is it working or not working for you?
GCA Feb 2018 Prednisone therapy only. Here I am 6 and half years later and still trying to find the sweet spot with prednisone--not too much/not too little---Just right. I am trying to reduce slowly using the DSNS program because it has always worked for me. I am, however, struggling now at 4.25/4.0

Both eyes together!
My consultant is doing
cataract
and drainage improvement
surgery
at the same time for both eyes in the same session under general anaesthetic. I know this is a fairly uncommon arrangement and I’m wondering if I’ll be able to see anything following surgery due to dressings etc.

Low B6... taking a complex with pyridoxine which obviously doesn't suit
Back to the search for the best B complex (Thorne being elusive at the moment and didn't do particularly well at keeping my B12 up)... one which contains pyridoxal 5' phosphate Does anyone rate Igennus Super B Complex? All suggestions welcome 🤗
