I vitro evidence for effectiveness of Simvastatin Metformin combination against Enzalutamide resistant CRPC
Malignant cells initially respond to ADT, but subsequently colonize and re-emerge as more aggressive phenotype known as
castration
resistant prostate cancer (CRPC).

To treat or not to treat: is it acceptable to avoid active therapies in advanced prostate cancer today?
In non-metastatic
castration
-resistant prostate cancer (PCa), all patients with a PSA doubling time of ≤6 months should receive one ARTA, whereas the others might wait until there is an acceleration in the kinetics of their PSA levels."

16 days post op orchiectomy...today I had bloodwork drawn.
Hoping it stays stable or even dips...from less Testosterone since my physical
castration
. Only time will tell what the next leg of the journey will look like. Cool thing...neither of us has ANYTHING in our schedule for tomorrow. A day of "carpe diem".

The Road Less Traveled
This discussion on
castration
makes clear why the word “
castration
” has largely dropped out of oncology’s lexicon. The oncology community gets a Madison Ave. award for relabeling
castration
as ” Hormone Therapy” or ” Androgen Deprivation Therapy”.

It was an eye-watering experience, and one that convinced me that I'm not a great fan of
castration
, so I vowed there and then that it would be commando for then on out.

Complete loss of PTEN is associated with increased metastasis and
castration
resistance in PCa. However, another tumor suppressor, inositol-polyphosphate 4-phosphatase type II (INPP4B), can partially compensate for the loss of PTEN.

Are there really fewer side effects with surgical castration over luprin?
My question is for anyone that might have tried Luprin, and had similar issues, and opted for surgical
castration
to reduce side effects. Or comments from anyone who has had surgical
castration
. It wouldnt affect my sexual issues, as the nerves were damaged in my prostectomy. Hangin in there.
