Casodex and ADT
Where does
Casodex
fit in? I've been on Lupron for six years, and had one ninety day course of
Casodex
during this time. And this was recent. I'm wondering if this may have been another screw up by my previous uro. Thanks, Joe

My New Normal
Urologist suggested Lupron shot immediately followed by a month of
Casodex
. Scans were ordered and lymph node involvement was present. Nothing was showing present in bones. I was in utter disbelief at everything that was being thrown at me.

Strontium to preserve bone integrity
So far my bone density test is normal, but there are changes after 3+ years of Lupron and
Casodex
. My goal is continue the active sports so I don't think about women (LOL). I get knocked down, but I get up again, no fractures, little pain other than muscular. Any thoughts on strontium.

I chose instead to do Intermittent Androgen Blockade therapy using Zoladex and
Casodex
. That enabled me to keep the cancer at bay for a long time while enjoying life traveling, writing and doing volunteer work. A few months ago, I reached CRPC so I am now at a crossroads.

23 years post-diagnosis
For the last 4 years he has been treated quarterly with Lupron and Zometa, and daily with
Casodex
. His PSA has been staying almost undetectable though the last reading was 0.07. In a week he is going to have a bone scan to see how things are at present.

Not so good timing
So, in May, after my son's wedding in Colorado, I am back to Lupron and
Casodex
. Actually I had a 50-50 chance of having the same treatment with the trial. So here we go!

I've been on Lupron from the start and went through
Casodex
as well. My PSA jumped to about 150+ before starting Zytiga on April 23rd of last month. I really want to try one of the immunotherapies either Provenge or one of the trial drugs. I'm trying to get into a trial, but without much luck.

ADT & " cycling of the coagulation cascade"
The SWOG 9346 [A9346] trial sought to compare subsequent "health events" in men receiving Goserelin (Zoladex) + Bicalutamide (
Casodex
) continuously (ADT) versus intermittently (IADT). "... induction therapy ... for 7 months.

Meanwhile, before RT I started Lupron and
Casodex
. Now I take Trelstar which is every 6 months. Continece good until about 9 months ago. Light bouts with proctitis. Resolved by taking fiber. Just had male sling procedure at JH and continence issues 100% resolved. PSA is now .02 and steady.
