I was wondering if anyone else on this can tell me how long until they saw a positive result after starting this faslodex/ibrance combo?
Also would like to know if you have mets to the lungs if this worked.
Thanks!

Hello MissyAnn. I started Ibrance and Faslodex for mets to bone and liver in Jan 2016. My tumor markers seemed to skyrocket after a liver biopsy late December 2015. It took 3 cycles of these drugs before the tumor markers dramatically dropped. Don't give up early. These drugs are the most promising for the longer term. Good luck on your journey.
Hi Bangorbea! I am in the same boat as you - mets to bone and liver. I started on ibrance and faslodex in November, but my numbers keep going up. My marker went from 81 to 146. I am wondering if I should change, or stay the course. I can talk to my doctor sooner than my appointment on the 28th. I'm not sure what to do. It's just nice to be able to contact a person that is on the same journey.
I was just put on Faslodex was already taking Ibrance. Hoping for a quick drop in markers.
I posted a long, eventful year ago. I was switched from Ibrance to Kisqali and took these meds all year. I did not tolerate them well even on their lowest doses. Towards the fall of last year my Onc kept saying i was stable nothing had changed which we know is good. She also mentioned my lung met could be scar tissue now. So i had all i could take with the pills and side effects. I had CT and same. So she did a Pet Scan and it showed NO EVIDENCE OF METASTATIC disease. I quit Kisqali immediately and of course i still take Femera (letrozole). So thats where i am now.
The pills destroyed my digestive so i see a GI next week.
Hope you all are doing well.
Hi Missyanne68!
I have MBC with mets to bone so my meds are different. But I have seen a lot of people on here that have been on Ibrance for years. I hope this will be the case for u...
Praying for some speedy positive results!

You should see a response or stability with 3 month scans for follow up. I have mets to pleura. Capcitabine the first chemo I was on when first diagnosed worked the best. Note this is expected as this was my first chemo.
I just recently started on Ibrance and Faslodex. I asked my doctor what the average rate to progression is and she told me about 2 years. I'm hoping it will be much longer, because so far the only side effects I've had are hot flashes, tiredness and of course some bruising from the injection site.
I an on that combo now. I had my labs done about 3 months an had a 20 % change in levels.
This is my second bout with breast Cancer. It came back after 9 years in my lungs.
My mets are to my peritonuem only and I recently (2nd cycle) started back on Ibrance ( it was effective in combo with letrozole for 14 months until my body needed a change temporarily - took Xeloda for 4 cycles) hoping to have less hair loss with faslodex/Ibrance compared to Ibrance/letrozole. Cancer marker #’s dropped after first cycle. I am hoping the ascites starts drying up and lessening soon in 3rd week if 2nd cycle. I have no quality of life with the ascites so hoping for relief soon.
My wife breast cancer spread to her peritoneum with omental caking. Her oncologist will start her on Ibrance and faslodex. She was on Xeloda for 1 year and her CA27/29 tumor marker went from 190 to 49. Do you think Ibrance is more effective in treating peritoneum cancer than Xeloda?
Even though this is a somewhat old post, I am adding a comment, in case folks come upon this later. I've been on Ibrance + Faslodex for 7 months. Did not see any great results/regression, but have held steady, which is a victory, in my book. Tumor markers (generally accurate, in my case) kept rising. Recent scans show modest...very modest...improvement. So it's not one of the common cases where everything improves with a new treatment, but I'll take it, for sure. My hope is that I can maintain this status for months or maybe years to come. My point is that the results might not be dramatic, but still positive in maintaining status quo...
