Stage iv
Hi, I too have MBC...got a clean bill of health at follow up on Oct 5th & Then on Oct 7th I had a scheduled MRI with my primary dr because of severe hip pain. Received a call later that day and I was totally blind sided, my cancer had spread to the bone and my hip was fractured. I am also on Ibrace and faslodex also on zometa to help strengthen my bones. Still very scared of what my future will be but I'm learning that this is my life now and I'm trying to be very positive.
I hope you're getting a bone strengthener like Zometa or Xgeva too. That's very important. I have bone mets and my Oncologist couldn't get me on Zometa fast enough! I just finished 24 infusions, or 2 yrs of it. Now I'll get it every 3 months, then every 6 months. My bones feel so much better now. Many women with bone mets get Xgeva shots instead of the Zometa infusions. It depends what your doctor prefers. But you definitely need your bones treated. Kats3
I too am on Ibrance and Faslodex, plus Xgeva to strengthen my bones. My first petscan after starting this treatment, the radiologist was so impressed with my progress, that he personally called my oncologist. After a year of treatment, many of my lesions have disappeared, others have shrunk and I have no new lesions.
