High heart rate post-ablation
I had a cardiac ablation for both AF and flutter 4 weeks ago. Recovery has been pretty smooth; one episode at 10 days where i had a heart rate of like 150 bpm for 4 hours, but it settled on its own. at 2 week check-up, EKG showed no sign of AF, but some flutter. my EP added amioderone to the metropolol

TSH post partial thyroidectomy
6 weeks post hemi thyroidectomy and my TSH is now 5.050 (0.27-4.20 mIU/l) . previously normal for me was around 1.25. I am seeing the surgeon tomorrow for a post surgical review. Is he likely to prescribe thyroxine or ask me to wait another few weeks? My Free T4 was 17.81 (12-22pmol/l) I'm exhausted

Newbie Post - Partial thyroid removal and B12 link
Hi everyone. Hope you're all keeping as well as you can. I was curious to understand anyone else's experience of a partial thyroidectomy and any subsequent effects from it? In April I discovered I was severely B12 deficient but the signs had been there for at least 18 months. But in August 2020 I had

Did anyone else suffer from very frequent ectopic beats after cardiac ablation?
I had an ablation on Thursday (today is Monday) and since Saturday evening I’ve had frequent ectopic beats it’s started sparse but it’s nearly 30 an hour, most hours now. I have experienced them before but never to this degree the last two days have been hell never been so stressed and anxious they feel

Blood result - thoughts please
Several months back I started to develop symptoms of autoimmune thyroid problems. I was told that my TSH was normal December/January time). Later a nodule was found on the thyroid and as a result of this I had a partial thyroidectomy last week. Prior to the partial thyroidectomy I had bloods taken as

Is AF going to shorten my life??
I have continual AF, irregular beats and a resting heart rate around 100bpm. I am on 10 mg Bisoprolol, which means my heart rate never goes above 125 bpm. My quality of life is fairly good, and I am not particularly breathless. I have seen two cardiologists. One says that my condition shouldn't shorten

Achieving correct levothyroxine dose after thyroidectomy and the benefits of liquid formula
Someone may well have already posted this but it highlights the difficulty in finding the correct dose of levothyroxine after thyroidectomy. It is a tricky problem. It's a different challenge than starting on a lowish dose and increasing over time with a slowly failing thyroid. Since the dose needs

Ectopic beats and anxiety
Hi all, new to here. I'm 24 and last year I had a cardiac ablation to reduce ectopic beats. I've been ok but still suffering with some and now when I get them they feel more scary than ever. What can I do to try and help them or for me to stop worrying about them. I've been told they will never 100%

Weird post ablation
Hi guys. I had a cardiac ablation for Afib on 4/21/21. Immediately after the surgery I had a hematoma in the abdomen. That was painful but not a big deal. 5 days later started getting what feels like jolts of shocks to my chest usually in the center. I feel it more when I lay down at night or just

Mayo Clinic cardiac ablation
Wondering if by chance any of you have had an ablation at Mayo Clinic in USA? On their website they mention they have 3D imaging and I don’t know that that is common in all hospitals. My afib has gotten worse and I need to at least try another ablation.

Partial Thyroidectomy/Sjogrens
Hi I had a partial thyroidectomy in 2012 and I have gained about 4 stone. I have not felt well for years, always tired, continuously trying to lose weight and in pain. I also have been diagnosed in 2019 with Sjogrens Syndrome. My thyroid tests always come back in the ok bracket. Any help would be appreciated

45000 ventricular beats in 24h
Here is my short story. The first time I noticed a heart rhythm disorder it was in pregnancy 21 years ago (I am now 46). Childbirth was risky but we both survived and after that I forgot about arrhythmias. I would occasionally measure my blood pressure at the health facility where I work and the staff

Chest pain/pressure 3 weeks post-ablation

Exercise after cardiac ablation
Hello! I'm 7 days post ablation for atrial flutter. Feel good mostly, a little breathless occasionally. Pre ablation I was doing 30 mins yoga and walking 3 miles + most days. I'm really looking for advice on getting back to walking and yoga. I've tried a couple of walks, but I'm tiring very fast. Thank

Slow recovery
I'm new to this this site. I am 12 days out from having a cardiac ablation. I feel, it is taking me longer to "feel like myself" then what I read on the internet. Still feel discomfort in my chest and shoulder blades. Still feel breathless. Is it too much rest? Prescribed 80 mg of omeprazole which

Levi thyroxine and histamine sensitivity
Hello. I’m new to this post but appreciate all the help people are getting and I wonder if you can help me. I’m due to have a partial thyroidectomy tomorrow and understand that it could result in sub clinical thyroidectomy. Unfortunately I’ve just found out that Levothyrixone (and also Armour) are histamine
