Vagus nerve damage
Hello, I had a cardiac ablation for svt in January of 2020 and unfortunately havent been the same since. I've had acid reflux like symptoms that were extensively tested and found to be hypersensitive esophagus nerves. I've also had other symptoms like chest pain, palpitations, and shortness of breath

Please, please could anyone give me advice! I am new to this site. I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease and hyperthyroidism in September 2019, 13 months ago. My endocrinologist has now told me my condition will not reverse / stabilize on carbimazole as I couldnt get down to 5mg a day without my levels

Ablation Date
Just thought I'd write to voice my admiration for the NHS. I've just been given a date for my second Cardiac Ablation - 17th November 2020. The first procedure made me symptom free for almost 5 years before I started getting arrhythmia again - so in my case, it clearly works well. I was told the waiting

Post partial throidectomy
Post partial thyroidectomy, has anyone any insight please? I've had rigours, fever, extreme lethargy, aching joints and hands have mild shakes. All bloods normal? I know something is not right. The multinodular goiter was size of an orange! Any thoughts welcome

Partial thyroidectomy
A friend had a partial thyroidectomy 20 years ago and ever since been on 50mcg. Levo with annual TSH check. As she has some hypo symptoms I passed on what I have learned from this forum. Using thyroid uk she listed her symptoms. She didn't take her levo prior to blood draw and asked for fT4 to be

Differences in those with or without a thyroid
One area tends to confound me a bit here. I’m in the US and focused on thyroid cancer and those of us who have had thyroidectomies. This is one of the best thyroid forums around (excellent information, great mods and caring support) and I often refer folks who come to our US thyroid cancer forum here

Ablation by the Numbers from Medtronic info - 8/29/2020
My ablation was the burning type and successful but here is latest info on Cryoblation ablation. Came across this reading and thought some might find the numbers interesting - FYI Medtronic Cryoablation Superior to Drug Therapy for Symptomatic Paroxysmal ESC Congress: New Research Highlights First-Line

Follicular thyroid cancer
I was diagnosed with a benign goitre back in 2015. After noticing they had grown I’ve had further investigations and then a partial thyroidectomy. I have been told I have follicular cancer and now need to have the rest removed and potentially nuclear iodine. My tumour was encapsulated in thyroid but

Why do people have multiple ablations?
Before I had my ablation I was told that the success rate was 70%, so for 30% of people it didn't work at all or maybe it didn't work perfectly and they would need one or more procedures. Presumably that is because not all of the electrical signals were found but maybe not. Maybe it only worked for

Apologies if this is a bit of a long post! Hoping to give as much info as I can in case any of you can offer me some advice. Post ablation palpitations?
Hello. I just had a cardiac ablation yesterday for SVT. They said I had 2 nodes and pathways and that they found the circuit and ablated it and considered it successful. Since getting home I’m getting almost constant flutters and palpitations. (Pre-procedure they were induced by running/jumping/swimming

Abbott's Bluetooth connected implantable heart rhythm devices score FDA clearance
Abbott’s Bluetooth connected cardioverter defibrillator and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator, part of the Gallant product line, scored FDA clearance this morning. Patients using the technology can connect it to a smartphone app, called MyMerlinPulse, which will let both patients and providers

Starting on thyroxine tomorrow
I had my tft bloods done on Friday and on Monday morning (very early) had a text to contact my GP with ref to them. I had a telephone appointment with her and she said that my tsh was 14.9, my previous level in November was 9.78, so she was prescribing me 25 mg thyroxine to start on and would like retests
