Partial Thyroidectomy/Sjogrens

Hi I had a partial thyroidectomy in 2012 and I have gained about 4 stone. I have not felt well for years, always tired, continuously trying to lose weight and in pain. I also have been diagnosed in 2019 with Sjogrens Syndrome. My thyroid tests always come back in the ok bracket. Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to the forum.

My thyroid tests always come back in the ok bracket.

Can you post these "OK" results please, along with their reference ranges. If you don't have them, ask the receptionist (not the doctor) at your surgery for a print out, the reference ranges will be at the side of the results.

For a full picture we need to see

TSH

FT4

FT3

Thyroid antibodies

and because we need optimal nutrient levels for thyroid hormone to work properly we also need

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

but they may not all have been done, just post what you have for now.

Also, please tell us if you did your test as follows:

* Blood test no later than 9am

* Nothing to eat or drink except water before the test

* Last dose of Levo 24 hours before the test

* If you take Biotin or a B Complex did you leave this off for 7 days before the test.

Are you taking any thyroid hormone replacement (levothyroxine?), if so what dose?

Hi I will try and obtain my test results for my thyroid. The tests were taken at 3 pm and I am not on any medication for my thyroid. I also take Vitamin D every day. I will update when I get more information Thanks

OK, come back when you have them. In the UK we are legally entitled to our test results without charge or question, the receptionist may have to get permission from the GP first but they must allow you to have them.
