MedCity article: How pulsed-field ablation can transform the treatment of atrial fibrillation
Hello All. I discovered today a new article which I'm sure will be of interest to many here who suffer with AF and are considering a cardiac ablation at some point in the future. Here's the link to the article: https://medcitynews.com/2022/02/how-pulse-field-ablation-can-transform-the-treatment-of-atrial-fibrillation

How Can I Improve Hypo Symptoms without Causing Arrhythmia and Results of Thyroid and Adrenal Tests
Hi, A while ago I posted on here with continuing hypo type symptoms eg fatigue, weight gain, hair loss, coldness, while taking 1 grain NDT daily. (I have Hashimoto's and had a partial thyroidectomy in the 1990s due to Graves). The issue is that every time I try to increase my NDT dose, even by as little

AV Node Ablation and Pacemaker
Hi Everyone, I had an AV Node Ablation and Pacemaker implanted all on the same day last Thursday 1/20/22. I was in a situation where I was having many different heart rhythms, svt, atypical aflutter and afib. I have had two MAZE procedures which worked for a while but unfortunately staying in sinus

Iodine
Hi A quick summary, I had a partial thyroidectomy 20+ years ago. Currently take T4 and T3. But I also have to take calcium because of low blood levels. I take seaweed calcium because I’ve read it’s better for bones (I have low bone density), but I’ve just noticed it contains iodine. And I’ve seen

Can anyone explain what this means?
Hi everyone I never really knew what my thyroid issue was because I was a teenager when it first started and firstly I can't remember that far back but also I imagine they spoke to my Mum rather than me. Later I assumed it had been Graves because I had a partial thyroidectomy. But I found this recently

Has anyone felt better on just T4 rather than T4/T3?
Hi. I am sorry to keep posting but I am now thinking about stopping T3. A quick summary. I was on T4 only for 20 years after a partial thyroidectomy and was actually pretty ok on it. I then saw an endo about 4 years ago for hyperparathyroidism caused by two parathyroid tumours. He said that he thought

Not sure about radioactive iodine- best way to get a second opinion?
Hi All, I had a partial thyroidectomy in approx 2005 when I was 12, removing a rapidly growing benign nodule on my right side. I've been fine for years, and my TSH levels have apparently been within normal range when tested since. However since 2017 my remaining side has rapidly grown, and I now have

General anaesthetic and arrythmia
I recently underwent a procedure and experienced frequent ectopic beats and fast heart rate days afterwards. I had a cardiac ablation a few years ago fir Atrial Fibrillation, and haven't had any episodes since, until the aftermath of aforementioned surgery. Has anybody else experienced a similar reaction

7 weeks after partial thyroidectomy and request help with test and levo dosage.
Had partial thyroidectomy 7 weeks ago and now TSH is 7.2. Thanks to all who helped me when I was feeling terrible post surgery!. The irony is now I feel great. The doctor wants me on Synthroid (he will not prescribe generic ( Levo) 75 mg. I had ferritin tested and Vit D by my request. (Thanks to all

Your favourite podcasts while running
I’m in a bit of a rut in terms of podcasts and I’d love some new ideas. So far, I’ve been listening to: - No such thing as a fish - The Rich Roll podcast - 99% invisible - Hidden Brain - Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu - The Drive with Peter Attia - Revisionist History - ologies But, as I say, I feel

Please help. I had a partial thyroidectomy two years ago due to a goitre. Since then I never felt I recovered from the surgery. I've been diagnosed with CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome), after the GP trying to fob me off with anti depressants initatially, then to diagnose me with fibro and eventually

Raised liver enzymes
I had a total thyroidectomy following it being enlarged and covered in cysts in August 2018 - blood tests also showed my thyroid levels were falling out of range. This followed a partial thyroidectomy for the same reason in 1994. 10 months after the 2018 surgery, so by mid 2019, my thyroid levels balanced

Are any thyroid supplements worth it?
I had a partial thyroidectomy in May. The remaining lobe isn't working well on its own so started thyroxine a month ago. I had a look online at supplements that support thyroid function. Some reviews recommended them, others said it isn't worth it. What are your thoughts?
