Cardiologist ref av node ablation
When my af first started I saw a cardiologist who discharged me and put the episode down to stress and/or alchohol. Several weeks later had another episode of af and saw my gp. Gp stated had no feedback from cardiologist so asked me to give them a bell for the notes. Three weeks later the cardiologist

Bee stings and AF
My husband keeps bees. I was stung once about 23 years ago before being diagnosed with AF so was not on any medication, and apart from the pain, no problem. My query is has anyone had any adverse affects from wasp or bee stings whilst on medication for AF? I am ultra careful whilst husband is dealing

Another idea if deciding about ablation
CARMA facility in Utah has developed a method to measure atrial fibrosis with
cardiac
MRI to see if it correlates with
ablation
success. Currently in long term, multi-facility studies. It is difficult to guesstimate why one patient has a higher level of fibrosis than another.

What are your experiences of persistent AF and treatment?
Hi all, I’m a research student looking for patients who would be interested in sharing their experiences of persistent AF and treatment, by completing an online survey. If you have been diagnosed with persistent AF and are undergoing catheter ablation, cardioversion or atrioventricular (AV) node ablation

How many of you ladies have been through this? What was the outcome?
Hi. I've posted here before, I had endometrial ablation 16 months ago for severe heavy bleeding/clots 15+ days a month. I've had 2 laparoscopy's since. 1st was negative, 2nd found endo. Had adhesions removed from pelvic wall and ligaments. I've been in worse pain since March (last lap date) I've been

Hybrid Ablation, 2nd procedure at last .
Having been amongst the first 20 or so in the south. West of England, to undergo this new procedure in December 2014, I am now to have the 2nd part next Wednesday 3rd June. Briefly because the diameter of my left Atrium is greater than 5mm, I was deemed unsuitable for normal Catheter Ablation but

Endometrial ablation
Hi all, just had a letter through my consultant has sent to my go. I'm seeing him on Thursday and in the letter it says will discuss the option of endometrial ablation, I have never heard of this before and would be grateful if anyone has any experience of this and if it had worked. Just want to gather

A.V. Node ablation
Hi. I am taking 5mg of Bisoprolol which doesn't ease AF. I am usually in AF 15 to 18 hours every six days. Symptoms of being tired and breathless are worsening as are the uncomfortable feelings in my chest. My cardiologist wants me to try flecainide which scares me. As I also have a pacemaker I am

Hospital Consultation Today :)
My referral is today at 11.40. I'm not sure how I feel about it but I am going armed with my pain/bleeding diary and my partner. After having to have my 3rd mirena removed last month I will continue to refuse hormone treatment and insist on an endometrial ablation. Fingers crossed! x

4 months post 1st Stage of Hybrid Ablation.
I suffer from permanent AF with resting HB at 80 ish and under load, anything up to 175.. I had surgical ablation on 9 December 14 & within 49hours back in AF and I was told that this would probably be the case until the wounds & Scarring healed. I have been unable to exercise with any real effort

Cryoablation or RF Catheter Ablation
Following my 3rd DC Cardioversion on Monday, it's now all systems go to get this thing well and truly fixed. I've been in and out of AF so many times since last September it's starting to get scary. From September to November I was in and out of AF every 2-3 weeks. Since my first DC CV I've managed to

Do I still need to take Rivaroxaban?
I have just had, 2nd April, an AV node ablation, so my Pacemaker keeps my heart in SNR. So do I need to still be on my anticoagulant? I had no instructions when leaving hospital as they were trying to get all the patients out the door on the evening before Good Friday! Then Saturday, hospital was on

Scared!
So after 18 years, 11 or 12 laps, 3 depo courses and endometrial ablation I am finally facing a hysterectomy next week. I'm terrified! It not the operation I'm scared off, it's afterwards. It's all the what ifs and similar. I'm scared I'm going to feel no better, I'm scared of the recovery, I'm scared

AV node ablation 1st April
Hi folks, wishing you all a calm day. Right, first of all I must tell you I have very bad osteoporosis. On the 27 February, my husband had a knee operation, on the 4th March I picked up my chip fryer and moved it to the other part of the kitchen, whoops, a wrenching feeling! On the 9th March I phoned

Question for Ladies who have had endometrial ablation
Hi If you have had this procedure can you let me know what age you were when you had it done please? My "specialist" said at a previous consultation I was too young (39 in 3 weeks) and it wouldn't work. I'm going back to see here on the 13th April and I will ask again for this procedure. I'm really
