Gynae verdict a referral to a NHS fertility clinic despite being referred and discharged 2 years ago. ?

Hi ladies how is everyone doing? I hope that everyone is ok  considering 💞  baby dust to you all 😘

Well as for me I had my apppintment with General gynae to discuss my bleeding issues. Which have made me anaemic, GP is prescribing iron supplements  which are a gods send 👍 gynae reminded me to have a full count blood test this month I pretended it was arranged lol what am I like!😂

Luckily  I've have had distractions like college and voulterering teaching assistant at a school to help pass time and take my mind off babies a bit 😃

Gp said prior to appointment they'd both discussed endometrial ablation they thought that was my best option. And asked if I could still have children he said yes! Gynae did not agree and said it was not recommended for woman who want a future pregnancy yes please!  I have read online and it backs up gynae. Same consultant as last September was better this time 😃

2 choices are;

1) go on pill or coil ( in order to hopefully regulate and normalise my cycles)

2) to be re referred to an NHS fertilty clinic.( to gynaes colleagues)

I'm baffled by it all to be honest don't know what to think.

I also explained to him that we had been refereed to a fertilty clinic in 2013 and  had been told it was ivf or trying and NHS won't fund us as I have a son from a previous relationship.

 Also told him I had 3 progesterones blood tests two indicated ovulation one didn't . He thought I should get Clomid. To help normalise my cycles and help me fall. Actually surprised me was the first medical person to believe and agree with me our infertilty is not unexplained! 😳

 He said he'll put the two choices in writing and I've booked an appointment to see GP 5th May to discuss this further with him. 😏

I wondered if you lovely ladies have been in this situation and if it is possible to get second referral to an NHS fertility clinic. Gynae thinks I've got good grounds for referral.Any advice gladly appreciated! Thanks for reading and being there . I apologise for my moaning 😘

Hi jess1981. Well, I think your main priority with all of this, is to get yourself fit and well. You have suffered much bleeding in the past which resulted in your anaemia. Do make sure you get a repeat blood count done to see whether the iron you have bee prescribed is doing the trick. Not too sure about an endometrial ablation, as this is usually reserved for nasty fibroids and can add to fertility problems. However, your consultant knows you best. Interesting to see that someone has suggested you trying Clomid. This of course would be the easiest option, and providing your tubes are OK will give you a chance by regulating your ovulation. Do have a chat with your GP and see whether it is possible to re refer you to a fertility specialist. As you already know, should you need treatment such as IVF, you would have to pay because you have a son. However, treatment with Clomid is sometimes permitted. Good luck with it all, as I know you have been through loads to get to this stage. Diane

Thank you Diane for your helpful and kind response it is appreciated. And thank you for your concern, since taking the iron I do feel a lot better.

I have booked a full count blood test booked 25th April.Booked an appointment to see my GP 5th May to discuss all this with him further. He's been very supportive over all of this so far 😊

I think I was just confused by the two medical experts difference of opinion. But having thought about it, it does make sense what the consultant has said. The bleeding occurs between ovulation and next cycle. Will let you know how I get on x
