My husband was on carbidopa levodopa er by mylan and was doing well.

After they were not able to manufacture since last year he had to switch to the sun product which is not working. His tremers are back, he is losing the ability to use the usage of his mobility more and more.

Sun c/l is not a good brand. Many people have had negative experience with it. In fact I believe Sun is under FDA investigation.

Below is an article about Mylan. The same thing has happened to me 2 times. My symptoms got a lot worse. After a week or 2 I realized it was the mfg. I had my neurologist order the Mylan & my symptoms quickly improved. This time I called &Mylan directly & they 1st said backorder would be Feb or Mar, now they said it won't be until end of May. I've tried calling different pharmacies to see if they have any in stock but haven't had any luck. You can also have them ask their whosaler if they have any "short" dated, but I didn't have luck with that either. Let me know if you find any. Good luck!

Has Sinemet been compared to generic C/L?

I went through the same process with disappearance of Mylar C/L 50/200. Was told Mylan’s facility in Puerto Rico was destroyed by hurricane.

Mylan C/L Odt (orally dissolving tabs), which is what I used, is actually the generic. Does that answer your question about Sinemet vs generic C/L?

I took Mylan for quite a while with good result, but never have taken actual Sinemet.

I have experienced some big differences in manufacturing and generic vs. brand name. I find the claim that they are the same to be without merit

I got my physician to state on prescription that I required Sinemet for medical reasons and insurance covers at lower price. I just filled 90 day prescription at CVS Atlanta. If you contact your local CVS should be able to find you some and send to local CVS. Lowered price of Sinemet has resulted in shortages. money.cnn.com/2018/07/19/ne...

My neuro said all C/L is not absorbed alike. Has to do with filler and binder ingredients. I also had one brand didn’t work at all.
