Carbidopa

Has anyone heard of Carbidopa and Levidopa and what type of drug are they, this is what my GP has suggested I try. Any advice would be appriciated. Keith

I would like to find a neurologist who is willing to listen to my experiences and work with me, including prescribing carbidopa to take with mucuna. I have only had a horrible experience with the neuro I saw. How did you find an open-minded neurologist? I am in North Carolina, if that helps.

I have problems with my restless legs - mainly constant tingling and weakness in my legs - and am considering whether I should try GABA (as nutritional supplement), since Levidopa/Carbidopa and the Neupro patch have hardly any effect.

Has anyone been able to find a good source of information to understand proper dosing of mucuna pruriens supplements when taking 25-100 g of carbidopa/levidopa x 3/day?

Anyone taking Nourianz and Gocovori together with Carbidopa /Levodopa? I am following this regimen which has been largely benign. Just wanted to know if anyone else has experiences to share.

She is on CR Levadopa Carbidopa 175mg per day. Ropinirole CR 4 mg, Safinamide 100mg. Her essential proble is peak dose dsykinesia and fatigue closed to off times. The doctor also prescribed Rivamer 1.5. This seems to be cholinesterase inhibitor. Does thisdo good for PD?

Just got home after a neurologist appointment where he suggested I start taking DAs because he thinks I am on too much Carbidopa/Levodopa. I declined.

Diagnosed in 2022, late onset at age 75 with slight symptoms before. Slightly dragging my left foot and unable to run was alarming and led me to get checked out. A recommended DATSCAN REVEALED a Dopamine shortage but not severe. Very slight additional symptoms. Doc recommended a very low dose initially

I’m on rasagiline and sometimes mucuna and carbidopa….and should they be discontinued before? If so, how long before? Thanks!

So I ended up with two different doses that I take during the day along with carbidopa. My morning dose is 1/16+1/64 tsp of Barlowe's + about 2mg of carbidopa ([i]I cut a 25 mg pill in 8ths.

What do you do when carbidopa-levodopa "off" times get inconsistent, more frequent, or it seems the C/L didn't work at all? I get extremely uncomfortable, uncoordinated and so incredibly weak.Thank you!

It has always been a problem for me that it takes a long time for my Carbidopa Levadopa to get into my system and bring "on" time. If my digestive system is slowed down, won't this greatly affect the ability of my meds to get into my system?

I have stopped using Neupro patches, but still have to take 3 x 100 mg Levodopa/Carbidopa because I also have Parkinson. For the first time I took 100 mg Gabapentin at 8 pm. It made me feel dazed. I went to bed at 11 pm. My legs didn't realy feel calm.

Has anyone tried Crexont? Supposed to be better than Rytary 🤔 My doctor has prescribed it for me but still awaiting insurance authorization. https://crexont.com/

I was diagnosed with PD since 4 years and I take Mucuna capsules, Carbidopa Levodopa 4x daily and my neurologist recently added Entacapone to my regimen but nothing has helped this nasty symptom. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Maddie

I was diagnosed with PD in 2023, with tremors on my dominant side (left), and perscribed (2)100/25mg levadopa/carbidopa , 3 to 4 times/day. My PD has progressed rapidly since then, which is only 1.5 years. I'm now taking about 20 LD/day, a rotigotine patch 4mg/24hrs and .5 mg of rasagaline/day.
