Stopping mtx due to being neutropenic.
Hi peeps!🙂Hope this finds most of you well or at least coping. I have a number of meds, including a mtx injection - 20ml (metoject pen) and Cimzia (a biologic in a pen form.) Iver Christmas, I had to stop my mtx as I became neutropenic and some other of my blood results were either too high or too

Guilt-free relaxing & Rituximab!
Hey all, hope you are well. After my septic knee scare last week, the doctors confirmed that it wasn't septic but I am clearly having a big flare across my body and was carrying way too much inflammation. They've decided that the Cimzia injections are not working and have planned to start me on Rituximab

Insect bites
This is a bit of a weird one. I came back from Cuba on the 19th December and that evening I noticed I was covered in insect bites that I didn't have when I got on the plane. Must have had over 30, mostly across my legs, some on my arms and back. They didn't swell up, they were just super itchy. I had

Injection day! my 3rd round of Cimzia...
Today I am tasked with injecting myself not once but twice with my new biologic medication, Cimzia, however this is the first time I've done it on my own without a nurse. How do others 'psych' themselves up and get motivated to do their injections on dreaded injection day? Any helpful, fun and silly

Psoriatic Arthritis, Breast Cancer and Cosentyx
Has anyone had a diagnosis of breast cancer with the condition of Psoriatic Arthritis? So far, so good. . . I made it through the surgery. ONCO test results were low for recurrence, Score of 18, and now referred to Radiation Oncologist. Rheumatologist has given the go ahead to start a new biologic medication

Does Hydroxurea give you nightmares?
Hello Lovely members, I have ET ( JAK2 ), aged 56 and for 9 years just took I Cartia per day (1/2 aspirin) as level was around 900. This year, I had an atypical stroke/seizure whilst asleep (after forgetting to take the Cartia) which showed up clearly on an MRI, so I started Hydroxurea (Hydrea) at 1

Help me boost my immune system!
Hey all, hope you are keeping warm on this dreadful day! I am very excited because I'm going on holiday to Cuba on Tuesday, however... I have just come down with my 3rd cold/flu within about 2 months and I feel very weak and wheezy. The issue is that I recently started my loading dose of Cimzia biologic

Jaw pain
Morning all, I don't have RA, I have ankylosing spondylitis and this seemed the best board to join there being no specific AS board on here. :) My worst issue at the moment is jaw pain: last night it started again really severe pain that kept me awake much of the night. This morning was horrendous but

Restarting an old biologic? UPDATE

Severe reaction to Cimzia . Next step immunology.
Hello everyone, I have RA and tried the DMARDS , reacting badly to hydroxychloroquine, sulfasalazine and methotrexate being ineffective on its own and now on leflunomide. My lovely consultant ( who is brillliant ) then decided that biological were the way forward. I went on Cimzia and within minutes

Baricitinib and Low Dose Naltrexone
Hello Has anyone taken Baricitinib and if so, has it worked? After being hospitalised for an infection due to using Cimzia for 5 years, I have been given the choice of having Rituximab or Baricitinib, and thinking of favouring Baricitinib as it is not a biological drug. Also, I’ve been researching Low

Pain medication/ help
Hi all, First post. I’ve had RA for 15 years now (I’m 36). Have so far tried cimzia, humira, Benepali, rituximab and tox infusions - some worked for a short while, some not at all. I have been on prednisolone since I was diagnosed at varying doses - sometimes as low as 1mg a day but currently on 10mg

Restarting the same biologics after allergic reaction?
Hi all, I just wondered whether this has been the case for any one. I was on Cimzia for 5 years, worked the best out of any I’ve ever had. Had quite a few infections and then developed hives and drug induced Lupus. Then tried Enbrel, didn’t work and now on Abatercept infusions again not working.
