High Alkaline Phosphatase
I had bloodwork recently, for a physician other than my CLL Specialist, who told me today that one of the abnormal readings was Alkaline Phosphatase. He suggested that I see a Gastroenterologist. My reading was 222. I know it is a liver enzyme, and on a recent six month visit with my local CLL doctor

interpreting my blood test results
Hello again I posted here about a month ago, and received really useful information about what blood tests for hypothyroidism should reveal. I have now had the results of the tests, which are quite lengthy, but do not seem to have any information on T3 and T4 levels. Please could some wise person comment

W.H.O. Osteoporosis treatment levels graph?
Hi folks, I'm querying something my GP told me during a telephone appointment about my T scores. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2009 and treated with Strontium Ranelate until they were taken away from me in 2016 because of heart attack risks, length of time I'd been on them. But nothing was prescribed

Yoghurt and thyroxine/NDT
I currently take 75mcg thyroxine first thing along with half grain of NDT and then another half grain at midday. Changed from T4/T3 a couple of months ago. My last bloods were good with T4 at 21 (range 12-22) and T3 at 5.8 (3.5-6.1), And for the week prior to the tests, I felt better than I had

Possible GCA and PET SCAN
I am struggling getting a positive diagnosis for GCA. I have PMR therefore when GCA symptoms flared I upped my Prednisolone dose to 60mgs. So far I have had negative ultrasounds and left temple artery biopsy. Although the biopsy showed medial calcific sclerosis. My Rheumatologist recommended I

Ultrasound Guided Steroid Injection & Tear in Tendon
Hi Everyone I was booked for the above in my right shoulder this afternoon, the radiographer said, so you're here to see if you need a steroid injection in your shoulder, I replied that I thought that was what I was having done anyway. Once he'd finished using the ultrasound, he said that I did have

Raynaud's Dr.'s Appt. Outcome Am I Expecting Too Much
I actually had an appointment with just the rheumatologist. First time with no residents. Now I see like Kay said, the residents are important. The doctor did no examination . He did ask about the prescriptions he gives me and although my file was in front of him, he seemed not that versed in what they

EH up, never expected that.
Managed to actually get a GP face to face appointment this morning. That's a result in itself. So , went ready to argue my case for repeat testing, testing PTH, IF, . Started discussion by stating I was not criticising the practice, or individual GP's because I understand it is a very specialised

Statin Drugs and Prostate Cancer recurrence
Hello all. A month or so ago, I wrote about my hubby's blood test showing a calcium level of 134. Many of you good folks responded and some suggested that it might be a mistake. Well, it WAS a mistake. His blood calcium level falls within the normal range. We learned that the 134 figure was referring

Panic Attacks
For about two years, I've experienced panic attacks several times a week. The first time that I had one I went to the ER, because I thought I was having a heart attack. The main symptoms are a shortness of breath, a feeling of tightening in the chest, and an overall sense of weakness. I've had problems
