Heart rate whilst sleeping
I started taking calcium channel blockers 4 days ago due to my heart rate spiking when standing, showering etc. Last night my Apple Watch shows that my heart rate was 120-138 for around 20 minutes. Has any experienced this whilst sleeping before??

Blood test results
Hi,I started levothyroxine (25mcg) approx 6 weeks ago after diagnosis. Bloods retested today and TSH is 5.1. Previous results were 7 and 8.I have an appointment with the GP this week and presume they will want to increase the dose. Pathology investigation report on the blood test suggests undertreatment

Serum parathyroid hormone
Finally, after a year of the labs refusing to test Vit D, I finally had it tested, and as suspected, it was below the bottom of the scale - 23. So back on tablets and spray, and hopefully my leg muscles will start working again... The lab refusing to test has made me ill...grumble, grumble. Anyway

Low Ferritin
Have tested low (below ref range) twice on Evenity, has anyone else had their ferritin tested whilst on a bone drug and seen low ferritin? I have read calcium can stop the absorbtion of iron which may be the reason, not sure. Thanks

heart rate / calcium channel blockers
Hi, I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask but at the end of May I had an episode of vasovagal syncope and was diagnosed with pernicious anemia, which I was then medicated for. I continued to have fainting episodes and was then diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension. My heart rate rises by 50bpm

Hot flushes
Hello I’m on week 4 of daily pred (20mg), 30mg lanzaprozole, 70mg alendronic acid (weekly not daily). I’ve suddenly started having horrendous hot flushes - mainly at night but yesterday evening had a horrible sweaty and ill feeling 30 mins. Very reminiscent of my early menopause days pre HRT. I have

High blood pressure
As well as Tzc, I am taking 5mg pred, 10mg amitryptiline, naproxen, lanzoprazole, risendronate sodium, calcium and vit D. Could any of these be the culprit for high blood pressure rather than Tocilizumab injections?

Blood Tests to show if Calcium is being absorbed into the bones and not elsewhere....
Does anyone know if there's blood test than can tell if the calcium supplements are in fact going to the right place ( the bones) and not being absorbed into the bloodstream, if so what's it called? I have been diagnosed, via the DEXA scan, with severe osteoporosis, but I don't understand the explanation

Milk - what works best?
This may already have been covered but I’d love to know about other people’s milk journey. We know we need calcium but should the milk we drink be full fat or semi skimmed? Would we be better off with plant based ‘milks’, do they provide sufficient calcium? Is Lactose free milk a good thing? And what

Ckd 2 and Amlodipine
I'm taking a low dose of Amlodipine now and Lisinopril to regulate blood pressure. I've read there have been some evidence of calcium blockers contributing to progression. I'm checking sources with conflicting views. Any input from the group? Thanks for your time!

Low Potassium/High Calcium Caution
Hi Guys I had a mineral check via a hair test and a DNA Methylation report via a mouth swab (corrected 16 June as I had them the wrong way round) as suggested by a nutritionist who has been helping me sort my gut and auto-immune issues. I wasn't expecting much ... but how lovely to be pleasantly surprised

Dexa Scan
Hello Everyone, I am currently on the waiting list to see another endocrinologist as I have hypocalemia and PTH insufficiency (hypoPARAthyroidism non surgical).. My urine calcium is also low. I keep getting intermittent joint paint mostly in my wrists and wondered if I need a dexa scan and if GPs

Hike in T-Score due to steroid use. Worrying.
Hi All, just yesterday I finally got results from my DEXA .scan which I had done on 3rd of April. My T Score was T-2.3 (osteopina). My last DEXA scan showed my T-Score as -1.7 and deemed to be ok. This is quite a hike and I'm quite upset by i seeing that T-2.5 is Osteoporosis. I am Prednisolone

Please share any experience of meds to try and prevent osteoporosis especially Zoledronic acid and Romosozumab
I've recently had spinal or vertebral compression fractures and am now talking to various health care professionals and researching my options to try and prevent further fractures in the future. Because the risk is so high given my age (young at 63 but post-menopause) and long-term steroids I may

Hyperparathyroidism and Bones
I had primary hyperthyroidism in 2014 with two adenomas removed. It's been a long time since I've had my PTH level checked. I was reading that you should have ongoing annual check-ups of calcium and PTH levels to detect any long-term changes or recurrence of hyperparathyroidism. I feel fine and don't

Newly diagnosed with PMR and thank you for all the info here
Hi everyone, I received a firm-ish diagnosis of PMR this morning, after a 1-week trial on prednisone that greatly reduced my symptoms. I’d say I’m about 60 to 70% better compared to a week ago, if one can really assign numbers to such things. I still have a slight burning in my arms but not painful
