Burr hole

He had burr hole surgery to remove the clot, as causing focal seizures, he’s now home on Lacosamide, but has side effects from them, memory loss and confusion.I know it’s early days only 4 weeks since surgery. It’s really hard being a carer and a wife, sometimes all I want to do is cry.

Following further scans over the next few days, a biopsy and finally a burr hole procedure to remove the fluid, it turned out he had suffered with a brain infection.

He underwent left parietal-occipital burr hole placement and evacuation of chronic SDH on 03/01/2025. He was then discharged on 18/01/2025 and was declared neurologically stable.

My neurosurgeon is now suggesting the possibility of a burr hole surgery to vacate the SDH. I am concerned about the burr hole surgery and the large scar or depression that may be left from it. Of course, my health takes priority over this.
