What is it with local asthma nurses disagreeing with hospital consultants? How is this meant to help us to manage our asthma? Why are asthma patients not trusted to manage there asthma following hospital consultants advice? It is such a waste of nhs resources and money!

Ha. I should probably carry my consultant's letters on me and wave them about in appointments with the less helpful GPs and asthma nurses. Although they now seem to have me flagged in the system as genuinely ill, which helps.

My bugbear is the way they don't seem to look back in the notes. I'm not sure why this is difficult or why they can't search them for key terms. I have on occasion been treated as though I was making up my prescription history, for example -- surely a matter of record?!

The wasted time, energy, health and money this causes... never mind the costs to society etc when people are ill because of mismanaged care :-(

I'm doing okay now and getting the right treatment but it has taken a few years to find my way in the system.
