Hi - I'm new here. Diagnosed with Lobular MBC -- mets to abdomen
Found this group about a month ago and you've all been very helpful so far. I'm a year since diagnosis with MBC after 16 years cancer free (or so I thought). I have ER+ PR+ lobular carcinoma, which is the same as first time. That seems to be less common type of breast cancer. Mine presented with GI

Dx 203 CLL in Feb 2013,male, living in India, watch and wait till last week. I am Ighv mutated and no Zap 70 and CD 38. My Fish test revealed no genetic deletion Like 17p, 13q, 11q. Due to gradual fall of Hb to 8 and lymphocytes around 100k, I was advised B R chemo immunotherapy and stated on November

Tamoxifen & the Mirena coil
Hi everyone I wonder if any of you have or had oestrogen positive breast cancer and also have a coil fitted. My oncologist told me it was safe to leave the coil in place whilst taking tamoxifen as it may help with some of the side effects. Whilst talking to a friend who has the same type of cancer as

Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer
I'm new to this website. I'm very scared right now after learning I have DCIS in situ. My MRI has shown a little more breast cancer involvement, so the specialist says treatment must be a mastectomy, not a lumpectomy as originally thought. Although I feel if I must trade a breast for my life, it's

My story & place for others to share experiences!
Hi: Stage 1 in 2010-double mastectomy & failed to tolerate Tamoxifen (as I was going through menopause); but low oncotype score so took a chance. Diagnosed with Mets to Lymph and Lungs 11/2017. Currently on my 16th cycle Ibrance/letraziole; ct Scans every 3 mos. All have shown much improvement & now

Abnormality on mammogram
I was booked in to have bilateral breast surgery today for A-symmetry, but my operation got cancelled today, I had a mammogram on Tuesday and it showed abnormalities on both breasts. Surgeon suggested might be from previous surgery, but I’ve only had surgery on right side, not left, due to fibre-cystic

Just an I'm here update and about supplements
Hi I thought I'd write a quick update as per Admin's suggestion. Basically (fingers crossed) I'm doing ok. I've just had the MRI and Mammogram results back as I get tested annually (due to being BRCA1) and hurray they came back as not showing anything untoward! Phew! My CA125 was 9 in August so still

So after 10 months of taking Ibrance and letrozole I have two new liver lesions. The next step for me is Faslodex and a pill I can't remember the name. (just saw doctor yesterday). What side effects should I expect from the faslodex as I'm an academic coach (teacher) and still working. Also, is anyone

Diagnostic beginning
I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003. I was 43 years old with no family history of the disease....and because I was under 50 with no history, it took me 1 full year, 3 mammograms and finally an ultrasound that I had to throw a hissy fit to get...to finally be sent for biopsies. I worked in

Mental Health Assessment
I haven't posted in a while and shame on me. I forget that this forum is here until I get an email with some interesting message. I wanted to post today that felony drug case is finally resolved with a sentence of 2 years probation and 30 hours community service. I also was required to go to TASC, Treatment

DCIS, a real dilemma
About 25% of all newly diagnosed breast cancer is DCIS (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ). It's frequently called Stage 0 breast cancer. Controversy surrounds DCIS. Should it be called a cancer? Is it over diagnosed? Is it over treated? Current clinical trial research is trying to find the answers to some

Fall of '17 had sensitivity on my left upper sternum. Dr wrote it off as cartilage soreness. Finally in Feb '18 a lump appeared in that area. Rad, bone

Screening Options
Increasingly on DCIS Facebook posts, I see a lot of concern about mammography and its use as a routine screening tool for early detection. Some people are now using alternatives for routine screening. What are your thoughts? Have you tried thermography or automated breast ultrasonography?
