In the UK Olaparib only seems to be available for those testing positive for BRCA. Is this a cost issue that it is not widely available?
My partner has advanced PC with tumours in ribs, spine and iliac. He has been stable on Zoladex for 8 years but this may now be changing. We insisted on a BRCA test which has come back negative but from what I understand Olaparib is only being made available to patients in the UK for those who test

No woman Left Behind
Hi ladies, today 8th May is "World Ovarian cancer day "so I am thinking of you all today . We all show remarkable courage & strength as we deal with this dreadful disease. We are all here to help each other in different ways & I think we can all spread awareness to other women who might have symptoms

Ct scan of abdomen and pelvis and full body bone scan?
Hello, I have been advised to get a ct scan of abdomen and pelvis with and without contrast, along with a full body bone scan prior to my next appointment with my urologist. PSA has been undetectable since completion 9/9/20 of image guided radiation to the prostate bed and lymph nodes with a 6 month

asking for a friend (really) oncologist referral Chicago or Mayo Rochester
I am an open book for people newly diagnosed with prostate cancer and often hear from friends of friends. Looking back on my journey, I feel that I too quickly went the surgery route after consulting with a very good urologist/surgeon/oncologist and I erred not consulting with a Medical Oncologist first

Prednisone taper plan.
OK, I had my first and pretty bad 41 hour AFib last Friday, Im stopping Abiraterone for at least 8 weeks, the Onco will reassess then. Im now taking Metoprolol which Abiraterone increases the effects of it. Still taking Prednisone, will start wean tomorrow. What's your favorite taper/wean plan.

My PCa history
After rising PSA from 6.92 in March 2012 to 9.98 in April 2013 Uro performed Prostate Biopsy in April 2013. 12 samples were taken: worst sample 4+3 (30% involvement) and four samples 3+4 (5% involvement). Scheduled for robotic prostatectomy, but before it Uro gave me four shots of Fermagon. Uro

Not great news for hubby today. What is next?
Just updated my husband's profile so you can see his journey from 2016. Oncologist today said to continue the Abiraterone for another month and see where we are at with PSA results. Was up again today. He did have 6 rounds of targeted radiation last month, so would that cause PSA to go up. We were hoping

Is this decision right for me
I had a PSMA pet scan on 7/16/2024. The result shows a single tumor in my left lung measuring 8mm. My MO wants me to have the tumor radiated and monitor the PSA and its doubling time. A little background, I'm just short of 83 years old. I had prostatectomy in 2009, PSA undetectable until 2017. I had

What is a Healthy, low sugar shake or supplement to gain weight with prostate cancer spread to lymph nodes?
Husband has advanced prostate cancer mets to neck, chest, back, pelvis, femur. PSA is doubling rapidly. Currently on Zytiga, Lupron, Steroid, and Lyparza. 😞 Diagnosed in 2020 with tumor base of tongue (doctors said it was not related to PC) and aggressive prostate cancer at same time. Today, four years

What comes after, what comes next?
I have posted a few times about my dad. Stage 4, mets to 8+ bones at time of diagnosis, PSA at 137 (10/22.) Lupron twice a year, Bicalutamide, failed at 7 months, Xtandi failed at 4 months, currently on Zytiga. We met with my dad’s oncologist on 4/24. My Dad’s PSA dropped from 2.47-1.46 and pain has
