Going to hospital for an asthma attack
I’m a newly diagnosed asthmatic I’ve been to hospital 3 times in the past 2 months for asthma attacks but been told that I’m not wheezing and my oxygen levels are fine and I can just go home but I’m gasping for breath and am getting a bit fed up with it cause I don’t know why I’m getting tight chested

Asthma and Croup
Hi there, this is my first post and I suppose I am really just looking for some advice or tips from parents who have had experience in dealing with this. My son is 2 1/2 and since he was around 9mo has been experiencing "Asthma like" symptoms. At 13 months he was admitted to hospital for 3 days, and

Advice, please!
Hi all! When I read all the posts I am really struck how much many of you have to cope with. I am lucky, it is not so bad for me. But I still find it difficult. My significant asthma started about 15 months ago, when I ended up in hospital for a few days. My medication was adjusted and for 15 months

Itch inside chest
Still trying to sort out what happened to me last April. I spent a month being miserable after participating in a protest march. The inside of my chest itched. The itch was similar in intensity and quality to the feel of poison oak or poison ivy on skin. Every inhalation and every exhalation drove me

Replies To ''Have you ever felt you are going to, stop breathing altogether, and die''?
Thanks for all the replies, 24+ up to now, and help everybody, what a lovely group you are, and will try to answer as many Qs as I can that you asked. In the past I have called the ambulance, had heart check etc, and things calmed down. It's no use in stopping the inhalers I take, as they must have been

Nebuliser from Lidl?
I was wondering if anyone else has had one of the Sanitas nebulisers from Lidl [pictured]? I previously had a basic handheld plug-in nebuliser because I use saline nebs if I’m ill at home, but it was kind of a pain to have to hold it to my face for the duration of the treatment. I was at Lidl today

Back in hospital again
I recently moved to London to study my postgrad. Literally a week ago. Now I’m in hospital AGAIN. I’ve been admitted and have had IV’s and steroids. As well as nebs all night. It’s scary as I’m used to going to the same hospital where my consultant and asthma nurse work but I have none of that here

Brittle Asthma and work
Good morning, I've read with interest Mary's account of her brittle asthma and for me the story is so familiar. 3 weeks ago a neighbour started a huge bonfire - up till then I was absolutely fine no infections, colds etc and then the smoke got in my lungs and I have now been hospitalised twice within

First Asthma Attack Ever - Recovery Time?
Hi there. I have never had asthma before, however do have hay fever, some years worse than others. Back in June 2017 I slept with the windows open in 32 degree heat and there was a thunderstorm in the middle of the night, I woke up with a really tight chest and couldn't breathe properly. The doctor said
