can my GP charge me £30 for a copy of one lab blood result?
I have been diagnosed with possible Lyme disease , and my GP, being concerned, requested blood tests including inflamatory ESR markers, along with TSH, and other tests to determine if this is the case.. I 'phoned to ask if I could come and collect a copy for my records, to be told all is "normal" - which

Sierra Ferris
I had DBS two years ago, it doesn't appear to have helped a great deal. I live in the UK and am considering a consultation with Sierra, just wondered if anyone has seen this lady and their experiences. I was diagnosed 10years ago at 40

Was it viral meningitis?
My husband and I believe we are suffering the aftermaths of viral meningitis, but we're not sure. A malady struck us after an international flight from the US to Germany in August 2014. Woke up dazed, confused, with pressure in the back of my head. Husband had pressure, discomfort on sides of head

Did how your eyes look change after ABI?
Not talking about vision here (that's another subject) but iris colour, coloured bit of eye, (not black pupil or it's size)? A woman I know who'd had a brain tumour (still got bit left) said hers had got darker too, mine did. And as though 'the lights have gone out' = less shiny/sparkly - not just tiredness

When is the right time for DBS surgery?
I've been given conflicting advice as to when is the optimal time to have DBS surgery. I consider myself to be fairly high functioning ie, I still drive and work full-time. But now I walk with a pronounced limp. I can barely speak above a whisper and can't even hold a pen let alone write my name. Things

DBS self adjusting
For those that have DBS, how many of you have been instructed by your programmer to adjust the voltage intensity? How about pulse width or frequency?

Fibromyalgia? and more tests
Well, saw a fourth GP yesterday. My first GP who'd sent me to the neuro has left, the second was a guy who clearly didn't care and told me all my tests were 'clear' and when I looked at the screen and asked why one was 'flagged' he said 'oh yes, your vitamin D is low', the third just sent me away with

Head always feels weird
Does anyone deal with the following symptoms daily?? I get small amounts of relief but not a lot Lightheaded Weakness in arms, legs and fingers Weird spaced out feelings which also make it feel hard to walk Woozy Dizzy. So scared it's a brain tumor or brain cancer as they come from nowhere even when

DBS
I had DBS surgery in August & chose the asleep method done at UCSF. It's been slow going as my Graves Disease came to life again after being removed with radioactive iodine 10 yrs ago. We are still fine tuning & keep hoping for solutions. I take comtan & car/levo every hour & 45 minutes. The only

Hair after DBS surgery
I realize that hair growth is not high priority to people who have a disabling disease like Parkinson's, but I am curious to know how long after DBS surgery it was before the hair over the incision started to grow back. I really am not overly vain about appearance, but I am tired of wearing scarves

DBS a week later
Friday I underwent the second procedure of the stimulator being wired up to the portals into my cranium. This was a 45 minute same day event. It is actually a little more painful post event due to the tunneling of the wires from the subclavicular site of the stimulator up to the top of my head. All
