I had DBS two years ago, it doesn't appear to have helped a great deal. I live in the UK and am considering a consultation with Sierra, just wondered if anyone has seen this lady and their experiences.
I was diagnosed 10years ago at 40

Sierra is one of the best, perhaps the best DBS programmer in the US from all that I have heard. I have sent many people to her and they have all been extremely pleased. I have not had DBS so I do not speak from personal experience, but if I were going to have it, she would be the one I would go to.
Interesting. Any more details please
Her name is Sierra Farris, not Ferris. She is thoughtful, thorough and known for solving DBS problems that have baffled others. From what I've seen, she takes as much time as it takes to get it right. One of my friends suffered for a year after her DBS, went to Sierra and is doing fine. I have had several others with the same story. You can just call her. She is easy to talk with, no pressure and clear. I'm not sure what details you're looking for.
Are you still seeing her? I am stunned by the lack of connection between surgeons/neuros and basic programmers who just put up their hands when things got complicated. No answers from them and no answers from Medtronic due to their "ethical" decision to NOT make doctor/programmer recommendations... why is it up to the patient to run from place to place.... we're not buying carpet, we're looking for a Medtronic/DBS programming specialist who knows their craft.... Medtronic is an empire getting so big but not keeping track of its end-user.
She is actually located in Englewood off of Hamden Dr which is just south western part of Denver.499 East Hampden Avenue, Englewood, Colorado 80113
Ihavebeen going to her since I had my DBS surgery late last year and I am very pleased even though we have some complications from a brain injury and two strokes
are you still seeing Ms Farris? i tried calling earlier this year and was told their program fills up fast and i would need to wait until next year.... my husband has been working over a year with what we think is a great programmer but he is still so so dizzy it's changed our lives to worse than pre-dbs.
Where did you have your dbd done.I had it at hope hospital
Sheffield in the UK, i live in Lincolnshire UK. i will have to travel to see Sierra so that is why i am keen to hear other patients experiences .
I was thinking a couple of years ago about having Deep Brain Stemulation, but they said I wasn't a candidate for it.They said I could wake up and not remember anything.
