Tried Bovine Thyroid Supplement - feel very ill!
I could really use some help. I just started on a beef thyroid supplement this morning (Grassfed Beef Thyroid by Ancestral Supplements). And it looks like my body is reacting the same way it reacted when I tried 2 porcine thyroid supplements in the past - heart palpitations and severe fatigue. Although

iodine/ Lugols ever ok for hypos?
I have numerous chronic health problems, most recent over last 4+ years being Long Covid with dysautonomia ( including hypertension with bad postural hypotension)…anyway on the look out for alternative health advice/ support , as NHS given up on me. I have come across Sarah Myhill’s advice to LC sufferers

EBRT - sunbathing, water intake, iodine, kids
Hello, I'm 70 years old and I've just started EBRT to prostate and seminal vesicles and have some questions: 1.) Is it safe to be sunbathing to parts that are not being irradiated? 2.) I know that I should drink a lot of water. Approximately how much water should I drink daily? I'm 5.7 ft (1.74 m)

T3-only/ iodine levels
Can someone please explain the impact that taking T3-only medication might have on iodine levels given that deiodination is no longer involved in T4 to T3 conversion? Thank you!

Starting donor egg treatment
So after a long and difficult journey we are now starting with donor eggs with a Spanish clinic. From my blood results (TSH) I have been advised to take an over the counter iodine supplement - does anyone have any recommendations of which brand and what strength? I have asked them if a brand I found

Daily multivitamins do not help people live longer, major study finds
The taking of general multivitamins has long been questioned here on this forum. The article specifically identifies iron: Meanwhile iron, which is added to many multivitamins, can lead to iron overload and raise the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and dementia. I think we'd also advocate

anemia but digestive issues (diarrhea)/multivitamins
Good evening everyone, I´m writing on behalf of my sister who is lactating now on her second year and has been suffering from diarrhea for the last two months. She has always had a tendency to it, but it seems to be aggravated. She is taking iron(liposmated) with vit C(ascorbic acid) because she has

sea moss
hi, does anyone know anything about sea moss supplements. I’ve heard really good things, but it has iodine in, so I’m not sure if I can try it with hashimotos.

Use of iodine in CT and PET scans
I am aware of the danger of taking iodine supplements and their possible effect on the thyroid. Does it follow that investigations requiring intravenous iodine as in some CT and PET scans pose a risk to people with Hashimotos? My rheumatologist is suggesting I have some such investigations and it is

11yo latest results
Hello All, Here are my daughters latest results, I’m still battling with GP plus NHS consultants to get anywhere. She has only been off any B12/folate for 5 weeks (she does eat B12 fortified foods) but has been taking iron. Her medical history is low platelets but she obviously also has hashimotos.

feels like relapse following CT scan with contrast
Hi everyone, I have Graves arising post a vaccination in 2022 and exacerbated when I had covid. I went into remission a year ago but have relapses when I have a vaccination. I had to have a heart CT scan and I asked about the iodine and risks. I was assured it was fine for me to have and it would flush

Sleep aponea
Hi all. I'm a male who was diagnosed with Graves disease nearly 10 years ago. I had radio iodine treatment. In recent years I have developed sleep aponea which seems to be getting worse. Could what's left of my thyroid gland be causing this as it ruining my life. I can't tolerate CPAP, have lost several

warning re gastroscopy and gastrografin for ME/CFS sufferers . Plus neuropathy ?
I saw a very nice colorectal surgeon who arranged a CT colonography - as I thought this would be physically less demanding than a full colonoscopy. Two days after the scan I spent the whole day throwing up violently. You can get a ‘rare’ delayed reaction to Gastrografin, the iodine contrast medium.

anyone else struggling with high levels on medication?
just wondering if anyone else struggling with high levels on medication? been going on for years- since diagnosed in 2019. Takes forever to get back to relative normality each time. On carbimaxole and propanolol was 10mg BD but increased to 20mg as despite taking medication , t4 now 68.9, t3 25.4.

overwork factor?
alright, i think thyroiditis and graves'and maybe even hypothyroidism could have overwork as a cause.who here has worked too much, too hard, for too long, and probably still doing it? do lazy relaxed people get thyroid conditions? theories i've heard that make sense to me include: stress, glyphosate

I coughed up a little blood last august and thinking that I could possibly have an eneurism, I was sent to A&E. An x-ray showed a shadow in the lower left lobe of the lung. Because I was fit and healthy in all other respects I was treated for pneumonia and discharged with antibiotics but with a follow-up
