Bovine Thyroid

I've been given a thyroid dissicated bovine thyroid supplement from a lady I know who also has a underactive thyroid, because she is an ex nurse and knows how hard it is for me to be prescribed T3 in the UK, but I'm unsure if I should still take my thyroid meds or if I should be reducing it ???

Now, my thyroid levels have reached the normal range. Previously, I was taking 1.5 tablets of Thyroid-S, but now I’m taking 3 tablets of bovine thyroid. I take 2 tablets right after waking up in the morning (around 7-8 AM) and 1 tablet between 2-3 PM.

wondering whether just to go back to thyroxine and try the bovine thyroid tablets and adrenal support to see if that helps?

I've been trying to manage my symptoms holistically with a whole food diet, lots of protein and exercise, however I've recently started taking thyroid supplements using bovine thyroid because I'm heading into peri-menopause and feel like I need a bit of help.

I just started on a beef thyroid supplement this morning (Grassfed Beef Thyroid by Ancestral Supplements). And it looks like my body is reacting the same way it reacted when I tried 2 porcine thyroid supplements in the past - heart palpitations and severe fatigue.

I’ve had my recent blood tests and the consultant has said my thyroid is now in normal range. However, I am still experiencing symptoms of hoarseness in the throat, constipation, cold, tiredness that I can’t shake and low mood.

Can anyone help me with the iodine question? I've read when hypothyroid you should not supplement iodine and not to eat copious amounts of foods with iodine. I also thought I had heard that a small amount of iodine is in levothyroxine? I'm getting a little confused with what's right or incorrect.
