Open Heart Surgery Coming Up: Questions and Advise
Hi all! Happy New Year. I have been lurking around for a while and found some great tips here! My first post/question. I am 45 years old and will have aortic valve replacement next week. Mechanical valve. I will be in blood thinners for life? How bad is bleeding on a minor cut? Or on a nose bleeding

Spironolactone Side Effects
A couple days ago there was a discussion about severe leg swelling due to heart failure. Several of you mentioned better results with Spironolactone than you had with Lasix. I plan to talk to my Dr about it. But can those of you using Spironolactone please let me know about any side effects or problems

Too much safety giving me anxiety!!!
Hi everyone on here. I hope everyone had a Happy New year and is doing well. I haven’t posted in a while and I think it’s due time. Writing on here does give me the support and help I need, especially in these crazy uncertain times. I have OCD, and severe depression. I fell into a deep depression

Advice please
I've had paroxysmal AF for around 3 years and my episodes are extremely erratic. I can go several months with nothing at all and then out of the blue, it'll happen every couple of weeks. I'm on Lisinopril for high blood pressure and was prescribed Bisiprolol and Apixaban when the PAF was finally diagnosed

INCONTINENCE CONTROL
I have been dealing with this problem for about four years now, so today I tried something a little different. Instead of wearing a catheter condom & bag, pads, or wrapping the pathetic, teeny-weeny minnow in paper towels covered with a small plastic bag & rubber bands, I just wore a regular condom.

Guillain-Barré Syndrome after PCa Diagnosis... Anyone?
Most men on ADT do not have enough estradiol for basic

health
(& should consider an add-back low-dose E2 patch.) Estrogen dominance is not an issue during ADT. However, for the majority of PCa cases where ADT is not used, at least initially, estrogen-dominance is not at all unusual.

>1.0 DIFFERENCE BETWEEN T-SCORES HIP & SPINE ON DEXA?
All REMS scan/scan appointments are carried out by
bone
health
specialist and spinal consultant, Mr Nick Birch (GMC No 3086328 if anyone needs to know!), so operator/interpretational mistakes just don't happen! I personally this think this is the main USP for REMS.

Summary Paper from Drs, Claire N. Harrison and Donal P. McLornan
Nice summary I just came across from some of the experts. I've included some outtakes I found notable. Lots more in there on R&D for MF. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1111/bjh.16573 From chart, HCT control matters. This was discovered ~2011 and is likely a big part of what we've discussed

Anger and depression
Here is a crazy situation I have found myself in. I am married, 58 years old on Lupron/Zytiga. My best friend is a 36 year old female that I originally met as a coworker. We travel together and often times share a bed (no sex, purely platonic). Here is the strange part, On a monthly basis I have a horrible

Flec only
Hi Motov. I take flec daily and use it as a PIP when I get an AF episode. When originally diagnosed in 2015 I was given bisoprolo as well but could not tolerate this as it brought me to a complete standstill, my GP took me off it. Taking apixaban of course. My AF episodes settled into a pattern after

Apixaban and subconjunctival haemorrhage.
After taking Apixaban for 6 days (2x5mg, daily) I woke this morning with a subconjunctival haemorrhage in the left eye. Yesterday, the eye had been bloodshot and itchy; I had hoped that it was just conjunctivitis and would clear up. As I had a similar subconjunctival haemorrhage three years ago, two
