Hi Motov. I take flec daily and use it as a PIP when I get an AF episode. When originally diagnosed in 2015 I was given bisoprolo as well but could not tolerate this as it brought me to a complete standstill, my GP took me off it. Taking apixaban of course. My AF episodes settled into a pattern after a year, occurring every 6 weeks or so, probably vagal activated and always at night, I avoid sleeping on my left side now, my extra flex always puts me back into NSR within an hour or two. Interestingly, and I touch wood as I say this, I started regular twice a week swimming sessions last May and have not had an AF episode since that time. Seeing my cardiologist for my 6 month check next week, it will be interesting to see what he makes of this. Just to complete my story I also have a leak with my aortic valve. Good luck with your AF journey
Flec only: Hi Motov. I take flec daily... - Atrial Fibrillati...
Flec only
Hi John, episodes every 6 weeks sounds too much for me as the recognised thinking is this will only steadily increase. 'Always at night' suggests to me you should try an extra pillow under your head, nasal strips and do something very relaxing for an hour before bed nb no crime dramas on TV! I had a sleep test and had mild sleep apnoea and as well as the afore mentioned I use a strip over the centre of my mouth to nasal breathe whilst asleep.
What is the "extra flex" you mention?
Good the swimming works!
And interesting you take Flec without Bisoprolol. Quite a few people here do, but my regular EP is against stopping Bisoprolol. I saw another EP recently who said it's quite common in Europe to prescribe Flecainide alone. I'd love to stop the Bisoprolol!
