Hi
A bizarre list of activities here, but anyone have experience of doing, post heart surgery:
1. 5 aside football?
2. Lifting weights?
3. Playing saxophone?
Cheers

You won't be doing any of those for quite a few months post heart surgery.Great goals to have though.
Walking foot ball might be a good starting point.
As a matter of interest do you currently play 5 a side.....I ask this in light of your recent posts
Yes. Weekly
It is going to be a long wait there! Agree walking football when you are fit enough. Good luck.
Hi Seaguller. I have not gone back to lifting weights since my CABG but that's not due to the operation it's simply that I've not had the opportunity. Post 12 weeks CABG though I did go back to heavy punch bag training and jogging and found I had no issues, in fact the heavy bag training really helped me build back core body strength after my op and helped with some of the aches and pains I had from my op.
My advice would be to have a chat with your GP then take it slowly and listen to your body. It will let you know quickly if you are punching things too fast or too far.
Thanks
It is good to be positive and think about exercise But as others have said take it steady Too much and the wrong exercise could set you back months.Ask your local office of the British Heart Foundation to put you in touch with a rehab nurse. He/she will give you an exercise programme
