at the end of last year my thyroxine was raised from 175mcg to 225mcg in one fell swoop. I began to experience exhaustion fatigue severe joint pains a generally feeling ill as well as low mood. Despite seeing GP on several occasions over a period of 3 months l wasn’t offered any explanation or solutions

Blood tests - how much difference does timing make?
I posted last week about my symptoms and recent blood results but I had them done before reading here so I did them mid morning and had breakfast and coffee beforehand! My question is, how much difference might this have made? I’ve now been told by another nhs professional that my results are normal

high TSH and high T4
hi, I’d be grateful for your thoughts on this one. I’ve recently had two blood tests, one on 11th April with a TSH of 8 (abnormal) but T4 of 22 (so still just normal but top of the range). Then another blood test 28th June also with higher TSH of 11 and T4 high but normal at 21. I’ve had Hashimotos

Ideas please
I had a total thyroidectomy 20 years ago for a massive goitre. I had been taking levothyroxine for 20 years prior to the surgery. The idea being that giving me the meds would stop the goitre growing but it didn't work. My levels have fluctuated over the years but I have never had any symptoms - until

cortisol test
Hi I have had a 9am cortisol blood test which the doctor has marked as normal the results are 148mnol/L and range is 133-537. I know it says in range but have it also says <320 should be in interpreted for a pretest. My FT4 is low 10.9 range is 12-22 all other tests seem ok My folate was 2.6 normal

The results are in. I don’t know what to think of this months appointment and I’m confused and anxious but also a bit relived that it’s over. My husbands GFR was at 39 today, which has been the pretty steady number we’ve been trending towards. He had an Albumin/creatine urine test and the results were

Carbimazole and cramps update
Hi Everyone, I have been on a roller coaster since my last post, hence my relative silence. My mother was seriously ill, I was asked to sign a DNR, then my mother recovered, now I am able to focus on my own issues. Since my last post about my severe cramps, they seem to have subsided since introducing

hypothyroidism - problems with GP
Hi all - I’m new to this group and looking for some advice. Sorry in advance for the long post! I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and diabetes (2) in 2014. I was put on meds for both conditions without any proper guidance or support from my GP practice. I did a lot of research myself and both

About to start IV Methylprednisone 500mg
Finally, after 9 months, they have diagnosed me with TED, after discounting Myasthenia Gravis, amongst many other things. I am Euthyroid, so my TSH, T4, T3 are in normal range, though my Thyroid Receptor Antibody blood test came back positive (though not that high 2.6). My MRI also implied TED. About

New to this forum, seems like a good place to learn from others. I have stage 4 kidney disease it's now 27 not good.. for some reason last blood test it was 3b and next blood test it dropped to stage 4 is this normal? Anyone on here taking Jardiance and did it slow down the progression of kidney disease

Interested in IBS symptoms
I’m trying to learn more about IBS as my GP has suggested this is the cause of some problems I’ve been having but it doesn’t sound typical to me. I’d love to hear from anyone who has something similar & can set my mind at rest that there’s nothing more sinister going on. It may be that I’ve just misunderstood

Hi all, Very recently told I have a diagnosis of Hypothyroidism (test results included) after a phone consultation and requested blood tests. Just looking for some friendly advice on what these test results actually mean as only received a text message with instructions for starting Levothyroxine

Who do I see
I have ckd3 also have diabetes type 2 high blood pressure and trace of proteinuria. Iam so worried and anxiety levels have gone through the roof , it hasn't helped that I lost my dad this year and two very good friends in the space of 6 weeks.which maybe is not making me think straight and I'm over

Pulmonary Hypertension - I'm very anxious, any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there. I've been diagnosed with mild to moderate pulmonary hypertension. I have no symptoms except for shortness of breath when climbing flights of stairs or if I have to walk uphill for some distance. I went to ED on Monday with chest pain [turns out it was a panic attack], but they did blood tests

Kidney blood test
Hi all I 39, workout 3 times a week, don’t smoke or drink alcohol and I had a SCAD heart attack 2 weeks ago. Completely shocked but I’m being positive. I’m now on dissolvable aspirin and Ramipril. I take the aspirin at lunch and Ramipril at night so well away from my T3 and T4 which I take first

Recurring symptoms, bit panicky
I've already posted once when I was first diagnosed with GCA and got loads of good advice, info, reassurance. So grateful. The problem now is that after 12 days on Prednisolone 50mg the headaches started to come back and jaw pain. I wrote in my previous post that an on call doctor came out on the Saturday

new results after iron transfusion-help pls
Hi I’ve had an iron transfusion and retested. My ferritin has gone from rock bottom to beautiful. I’d like help with the rest of the results. I’m taking levo AM 150mcg. The usual protocols were followed for testing. I no longer take T3. Thank you
