Blood tests

With loads of advice from this page with regards getting private blood tests done, pushing my Gp even though they said I do not have a thyroid condition and I do not have low Ferritin. Guess what I have Hashimoto's and very low Ferritin. So after paying to go private to see thyroid specilist.

Mumbled about blood tests but said see how it goes. Then the shoulders started and had trouble getting out of bed, could not raise my arms so could not dress myself etc. Must have done something silly I thought.

I have managed to get the GP to email the Hospital to ask to speak with the consultant ( a week and half after I saw the GP) and I have had blood tests done. My Iron is low and vitamin D. Thyroid appears ok.

My recent blood tests I decided it would be interesting to see what my level of fT3 would be on a normal day, so I took my usual early am dose of 15mcg and tested 5 hours later (9am) So 8.23 (3.1 - 6.8)

We would usually monitor liver function tests when taking these" The liver bit worries me as when I used to see an FD a few years back she said from certain testing that my liver could be working better even though on GP NHS blood tests it showed OK.

That “may follow up with a blood test” has me feeling wary I’m with a lot of NHS hospital depts long term for various immune dysfunction & connective tissue disorders & have loads of periodic blood tests. usually my consultants set dates for blood monitoring in writing to me & my GP promptly.

He has ordered blood tests and an echocardiogram (I have angina) after looking at my CT angiogram and said that he will see me in 6 months. He told me to continue with the Anoro Ellipta inhaler and if it doesn't work I may need changing to the one with steroid.

I called the GP they said stop taking & go in for blood tests, the blood tests come back ok. Today the GP rang the on call endo & they said to try my on Propyithiouracil instead, I am absolutely petrified of taking these after reading the side effects.

My G.P. has run a whole range of blood tests. One of the tests carried out was Iron Profile and another was the Haematinics Profile. The results are as follows: Transferrin Saturation Index - 18% (20.00-50.00%). Unsaturated Iron Binding Cap. - 58 umol/L (27.80-53.70umol/L).

Hello all- My new GI doc has ordered a few blood tests, including a "random cortisol" test. I don't recall him giving me any special instructions. I'm wondering if this particular test should be early morning before first pred dose? Thanks

Ever since I found Thyroid Uk I have followed guidelines for when and how to manage blood tests but now I have to inject in the morning followed by breakfast. I'd be grateful for advice how to manage this - do I do injection and breakfast followed by blood test at 9am followed by thyroid meds?

All blood tests and liver tests btw came back as normal. Now awaiting endoscopy and mri scan. thank you for any replies

I have just had it re tested and tsh level is 0.97 I am also anemic come back in the same blood tests so starting iron. Any thoughts please

Has anyone ever been unsure of their results and taken two tests around the same time eg. NHS and a private company ie. Blue Horizon to compare their results to see if there is much in the way of a difference in levels for accuracy purposes? The reason I ask is via my GP/NHS it's never guaranteed that

so I dropped to 9mg for the fourth time and by the time I’d had the blood tests I felt I was back to square one!

If I lengthen time between shots, my B12 levels drop quickly on blood tests in spite of consumption of B12 rich foods and B12 fortified foods.
