Random cortisol test

Hello all-

My new GI doc has ordered a few blood tests, including a "random cortisol" test. I don't recall him giving me any special instructions. I'm wondering if this particular test should be early morning before first pred dose?

Thanks

Test should be done first thing in morning - and usual advice is no Pred for previous 24 hours.

You withhold your morning Pred until after the test which should ideally be done between 8am and 9am but by 10am, or within 3 hours after waking.

About 99% of prednisone leaves the blood within 24 hours, so don't take your next daily dose until after the blood has been drawn.
