Biopsy Results
I have had the results of my recent endosendoscopy today. I went privately to see a gastroenterologist as the previous one I had done on NHS stated that I did not need a follow-up even though they found Atrophic Gastritis and Hyperplasia. I had something called The Sydney Protocol, this involved taking

Biopsy wait times
He now has to go for a
biopsy
and the GP informed him the appointment could take up to 4 weeks. He called the appointment line today and was told it will take 10 weeks for the
biopsy
. Surely that is not right? He lives in NI.

Biopsy
did not show positive result but I am told to continue tapering the prednisolone. How common is this?

First Biopsy Experience
I'd like to share my first
biopsy
experience. This was a transrectal approach and he took 14 cores: 4 cores from a known 1.3 cm long tumor in the peripherial zone that he could clearly see on ultrasound (which matched the location on MRI).

Upcoming liver biopsy
I have a
biopsy
on Monday. Told not to eat or drink after midnight as I will be sedated. I am not sure what to expect and have read varying reports on the process. Was just wondering if someone could explain how long the
biopsy
takes and the recovery time.

Lymph node Metastasis
One doc wants to
biopsy
to check if cancer DNA has changed from original pathology in 2017. Another doc says… No to
biopsy
due to proximity to aorta… Anyone else had this scenario? Also, anyone had radiation to lymphs with success? He is on Firmagon & Zytiga… Thank you!

Antibiotics before Biopsy
Does anyone have information about the use of antibiotic prophylaxis before a transrectal
biopsy
? I've read that e-coli is now resistant to fluoroquinolones (e.g., Cipro).

STILL WAITING
My question is it typical to have a 3.5 month wait to get to a
biopsy
(maybe even 4 mos to the
biopsy
results….much more to treatment ) ???? I’ve been told it grows slowly in all forms, but this seems negligent to me. ???

colposcopy while trying / ivf timing
I had an appointment in august before my first cycle and they didn’t take a
biopsy
because I wanted to to ahead with the cycle. I am wondering if they do need to take a
biopsy
what that means in terms of trying naturally and ivf ….

Intraductal Carcinoma of the Prostate
My
biopsy
indicates a tumor that’s Gleason 5+4=9, Group 5 (possibly still contained) with intraductal carcinoma. There seems to be only a small bit of Gleason 3+3=6 Group1 on the other side of the prostate. MRI a didn’t show any spread outside prostate.

Any experience with Intraductal Cancer?
My GP recommended

biopsy
Gleason 6 in two cores. Similar result in annual biopsies in 2020, and 2021. Dec 2022

Does biopsy spread cancer?
Certainly e-coli can be pushed into it, since I got sepsis from my directed
biopsy
. What is the danger of METS being introduced to organs outside it with a
biopsy
?
