Any DBS prep advice?
Hi! My dad is rigidity dominant. He experiences freezing when his meds are wearing off. He didn't qualify for FUS at Sonimodul, but my dad finally has his 2nd meeting with a surgeon, Dr. Munhoz, at Toronto Western Hospital here in Toronto. We have watched Dr. Mischely's PD School on DBS, and have come

Viral meningitis do's & dont's
My daughter (5) was discharged from hospital 2 days ago with VM. Question may seem silly but can i wash her hair as normal? Im asking because of the headaches and because i wouldn't want to unintentionally hurt her.

Back again with another question about spouse's DBS results
Hey folks, was on here back in Nov. - Dec. concerning my husband's DBS results. I am happy to report after much trial and error, he no longer has any noticeable Tremors!!! However, I do think it has affected his Personality, he just doesn't seem the same. I cannot say it is entirely due to the DBS,

Biotin - is 6 days long enough?
I totally forgot about a blood test I had coming up. It's tomorrow morning. I've been sporadic on taking my b vits this month taken a grand total of 8 times this month. 🤦🏻♀️Typically 2 of those times were 23rd & 24th which will be 6 days gap between taking biotin and having bloods drawn. Is that

Herbal Alternative of doxycycline (Quinine and knotweed)
The in vitro tests suggested that extracts from seven different plants were more effective against the Lyme disease bacteria than doxycycline and cefuroxime. The plants in question were black walnut (Juglans nigra), cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa), sweet wormwood (Artemisia annua), Mediterranean rockrose

Recommended High Antioxidants
Here are the antioxidants that may have some effect on oxidant stress in AMN, and they are all safe. Biotin 300 mg /day; and Vitamin D3 dose 50,000 IU weekly. A small study of antioxidants in AMN showed improvement of some biomarkers with this cocktail: N- Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) (2400 mg); Alpha

Does anyone know if susceptibility to shingles is increased by having PMR? I've just had a shingles bout and have PMR.

my husband has been given a discharge date and i am feeling a bit terrified
My husband suffered a massive stroke after surgery for an aneurysm in May and has been in specialist neuro rehab for 6 weeks. We recently had a patient review meeting via zoom and a discharge date in January is being worked towards. I dearly would love him home but am terrified at the prospect too, he

how to speak to your GP about very low TSH
hi, I have Lyme disease and Hashimoto's and I'm currently taking combination T3 and T4 therapy ( after reading that this can be a game-changer for people who are chronically ill with Lyme and struggling to get better) my previous TSH was 0.32, my T3 was just outside the top third of the normal range

How to proceed?
Around 2017 the debilitating hypo symptoms started up. LDL cholesterol was flagged high and my morning blood fasting glucose started to rise by ten points (still within range), while terribly hyper/hypoglycemic all day. Before 2017 I recall living and functioning normally but looking back now I remember

Medtronic DBS battery change: opportunity for improved therapy?
Coming in 2021 for me is a Medtronic DBS battery change: what are the opportunities for improved hardware and software? How about comments on rechargeable vs non-rechargeable battery? If possible please share links to any source material.
