Biotin for hair and nails, even eyebrows.
Hi I thought I would let members know the amazing results my daughter has had from taking Biotin, She has been taking it for 3 months and her hair has really grown and become thicker, her nails are stronger, and best thing of all, which we are quite surprised about is, that her outer third of her eyebrows

Advice please on daughter's Medichecks results.
Hi my daughters recent results show an improvement in her levels after adding 25mcg levo to the previous 100mcg she was taking. She has been taking 125mcg for 8 weeks. She also takes vit D, B12, iron, Biotin and a multi vit. She occasionally takes a B complex but finds they make her feel sickly.

Blood test results advice
Hi I have untreated hypothyroidism/hashimoto's (with a goiter) and am feeling absolutely awful. I am tingling all over, am breathless sometimes, have hair loss, palpitations aching joints, and am very very tired. Also, I keep getting hot/sweating, which I understand isn't typical with Hypo symptoms

Feeling dreadful today... Any ideas why?
Hi Having moved from T4 to 1 grain of Armour NDT in July on advice my private Dr, I seem to have had mixed days. These last 2 weeks have been particularly bad and I don't know why. Test results from last week: Blood test 7am. Last dose of NDT 24hr before. Biotin supplements stopped 5 days before

Going Bananas!
just read here that this fruit is high in biotin. It’s the only fruit in its natural state I enjoy. I eat 2 per day every day and have done all my life. Am I getting a level of biotin which means I should leave off them before a test?

Re: Blood Test. Do I have this right please?
This time I’m going to do it properly, 😊 (I always used to just miss out my Levo the night before the test). Sunday as per normal at bedtime. Forget Monday nights tablet/s. Take my Levo on Tuesday morning @ 8:20
My blood test is on Wednesday @ 8:20.
Thank you Edit: Yes, I did

Another blood test result to consider
Hi, I've just done a bluehorizon blood test mainly for my vitamins (can't get this on the NHS yet, though I'm trying), but had decided to have my thyroids done as well. As a quick recap had a thyroidectomy last year due to papillary nodules, I'm currently on 137.5mg Levo only (I was on 150mg 2 months

long term hair loss
Having been on levothyroxine for more than 10 years I have gone from having very thick hair to continually losing handfuls over the years and now having thin hair. I've asked GPS a few times but had no help. I take iron, biotin, selenium, magnesium, zinc, collegen and multi vitamins. Has anyone found

Deep Brain Stimulation
Study from China on Parkinson's patients with RLS showed Deep Brain Stimulation reduced RLS & helped sleep.I certainly wouldn't consider it. Seems too extreme but if the Parkinson's patients are having the treatment to help tremor, it would be sensible to see if stimulation in another area relieves RLS

Yes, after all these years of taking Niacin to help Raynaud's, I still find it helpful. My Dr is aware. I take it only twice a day and will continue taking it along with the vitamins I have been taking for 40 plus years. The Raynaud's Association recommends it along Gingko Biloba. I also limit

unexpected test results
my test results in the last few years have all been more or less constant with a suppressed TSH and FT3 and FT4 in the middle or upper end of reference ranges. Have been feeling ok but noticed I fall asleep again in the evening rather easily. These results then came as a surprise. The FT3 is low, FT4

Severe M.E. + Perimenopause. Titrating Armour NDT & T3, without side effects
I think I started my NDT + T3 too enthusiastically. As you do, when desperate for improvement. 🤪 ------ -May. Started 1/2 grain daily of 60mg Armour NDT. -Gradually worked up to 2 grains over 3 months. -Got a few heat surges in torso. Maybe perimeno symptoms? Dr said to be expected with age. -Felt

Continuous Electrical Neuromodulation of the Globus Pallidus Intern in Parkinson's Disease by the Directional Electrode
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05626608 The hypothesis is that the efficacy of DBS in directional mode will be more effective on the motor signs of Parkinson's disease compared to omnidirectional stimulation and bipolar mode, with a better tolerance profile (fewer side effects).

Problem with compounded liquid Levo? Advice needed please
Hello I’ve recently requested a trial of liquid Levo from my private Endo as I wanted to rule it in or out in terms of trying to recover my health. I’m self funding for the trial. I had intended to try branded liquid, but the pharmacy were unable to order at that point so agreed to try their compounded

Driving Licence Application
In Jan 2022 I reapplied for my driving licence having had it revoked due to a brain tumour diagnosis in Dec 2020. I had successful surgery to remove the tumour in Mar 2021 and underwent voluntary radio and chemo therapies, with the latter finishing in Jun this year. My tumour (low grade) caused seizures
