Treatment Resistant Major Depressive Disorder: I am proof that there is hope.
I have been horrifically plagued by MDD for over a decade. In my journey I have tried literally every therapy and intervention possible including multiple medications, every psychotherapy possible, residential treatment programs, partial hospitalization plans, intensive outreach programs, TMS, ECT, ketamine

Dose increases but TSH rising and T4 and T3 falling
Hi everyone. I have been gradually increasing my dose of levothyroxine. After an increase I feel better for a while then worse. Over time, the more my dose has increased the worse my biochemistry seems to be. I wondered if anyone could help me to understand what is going on. I started off with

Cortisol level "normal"???
Good morning, could I get some advice on a recent blood test? The blood test last week was for electrolytes and blood count, but I also suggested a cortisol test as I have a suspicion that my level are a bit off atm. They also done an unexpected tsh and t4 test that I wasn't prepared for and had taken

Biotin
Recently had thyroid blood test and forgot to stop multi vitamin. It has 14 ug in it. How will this skew my results please? Do I need to do another blood test. Usually my TSH is very low. Sometimes T4 is just over range. So was checking these.

Why is Biotin a recommended blood test?
I've noticed on many posts that
Biotin
, along with Vitamin D, Folate and Ferritin are recommended for testing to determine deficiencies that can cause low thyroid function. What is the mechanism for low biotin levels affecting thyroid function? Or is it that hypothyroidism causes a biotin deficiency

Reducing NDT
Hi everyone, I have redone the thyroid panel after stopping supplement with biotin (small amount) for over a week but my results are still too high. I’ve got Hashimoto’s and been on 3.5 grains of Thyroid S for 4 years now. I gave birth 3 months back and started new batch of Thyroid S a week after.

biotin and test results
hi everyone! :) Me again regarding those high T3 results. So after posting last time I realised that one of my postpartum supplements has biotin in it- I’m wondering how certain can I be that biotin is behind my crazy results :) - does it always interfere? Also any advice on how long do I need to wait

Slightly off topic...Methotrexate and hair...what would you do?
I've been on methotrexate for 3 years, and it's kept my RA nicely at bay. My hair has thinned and gone very straw like, which annoys me. However, hair in other places has also thinned out, and a big plus is not shaving my legs very often as a result. I'm thinking of trying biotin to improve my not

UPDATE: one of my supplement has biotin - Thyroid S recent batches - stronger?
hi everyone, Back in June I gave birth to my lovely daughter and coincidentally also started a new batch of Thyroid S. Prior to that I have been using bottles of the same batch I bought back in 2020 and have been feeling great, consistent with how I’ve been feeling since moving from thyroxine to Thyroid

PD-related acronyms
I had compiled this list for another forum. Trust it will be helpful for heathunlocked readers, too. BBB = Blood Brain Barrier CD = Carbidopa CD/LD = Comination of carbidopa and levodopa C/L = Carbidopa/levodopa CNS = Central Nervous System CR = Controlled Relase DA = Dopamine agonist DBS

Hair loss
Hi I’ve been experiencing hair loss for quite some time now, unsure if it’s down to having an underactive thyroid (although controlled) or to having been on methotrexate for a number of years, was also taking folic acid but this didn’t seem to be doing anything to relieve the problem. I have also gone

Pre-Obstructive Hydrocephalus
My neurosurgeon has diagnosed me with 'pre hydrocephalus'. It's on its way. Saw the annual MRI scan and the 1.9 cm pineal cyst from 2018 has grown, beginning to block and ventricles have begun to swell bigger. I already suffer chronic and hemiplegic migraines and the symptoms from those mix with the

New results
I would value an opinion on my latest results given below. I worked out TSH 0% T4 44% T3 34.86% . The test was taken at 8.30am . No Biotin for 7 days before. Last Levo 24 hours before. The B12 is higher than previously. I'm thinking I should stop B complex for a while? Is the Cortisol a concern
