How to Take Niacin Without Getting Diabetes
I just learned there is an increased risk of diabetes on niacin therapy: https://heart.bmj.com/content/102/3/198 This study was based on people taking Niacin for cardiovascular reasons, which I think would be dosed at 500 to 6000 mg a day: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/niacin-oral-route

NMDA and AMPA are both synthesized chemicals that activate glutamate receptors, they incite glutamate excitotoxicity
This begs the question - if these are not naturally occurring substances in our body - how the hell did they get into our brains? And what can we do about it? NMDA is not an endogenous (native) substance. It's not found in our body tissue but rather synthesized as an excitotoxin for research into NMDA

Gradual but significant hair loss/thinning with SLE, any help or advice would be amazing!
Hi all! This is my first post on here as I've only just discovered this amazing community exists! It's so reassuring to find it's here. I was diagnosed with SLE in December 21, after a few hospital admissions with recurrent pericarditis. I was put on prednisolone (various doses, flare dependent), Azathioprine

Hair loss getting worse - what am I missing?
I have been struggling with hair loss for 3 years. It is now falling at an alarming rate and I fear being forced into wigs or hair replacement surgery. It's been a long journey, so I don't know that I'll remember everything, but I'll try to hit the important points: 1. I have no thyroid 2.

MDD Suffers: Avolition
I wish I knew this when I was suffering from MDD so I wanted to share. There is a clinical reason why you “can’t” do things. I knew I was supposed to excercise or walk my dog I just couldn’t do it. Which made me feel worse about myself when I chose to islolate instead. Before my DBS surgery I was talking

Probably A Silly Question, But Will Ask Anyway: Biotin In Shampoo & Long Term Effects.
Hiya. I am currently using a shampoo and conditioner which contains Biotin, which is supposed to help with thin, fragile hair, especially during the menopause. Although it is more likely to be a gimmick, the products does suit me, not in a miraculous way, as I haven't gained a thick bushy mane yet 🤣

Buy BEFORE FDA BANS this! ... Vinpocetine
Tip of my hat to Bolt_upright who mentioned that he takes Vinpocetine in one of his posts. It's considered a 'drug' in Europe and surprisingly (for now) has gotten past our "Fear and Death Administration" also known as the infamous, FDA. I've added this to my stack of about 40 supplements. It's only

All MDD Patients There Is HOPE: Watch this
I have been through it all with MDD. I can relate to every post in here. I was treatment resistant for a decade. I got Deep brain stimulation surgery last year and am in remission from depression. I would guess it’s FDA approved within a couple of years. The options now if nothing works is to suffer

FAA Medical Exam and PPL
One of things things I would like to do after I retire is earn a Private Pilot's License (PPL). Is there anybody who has had problems passing the Medical Exam if you have had PD or DBS surgery?

High Dose Niacin (Nicotinic Acid) and Hashimoto's?
Update 01/22/2023: I just learned there is an increased risk of diabetes on niacin therapy: https://heart.bmj.com/content/102/3/198 This study was based on people taking Niacin for cardiovascular reasons, which I think would be dosed at 500 to 6000 mg a day: https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements
