Vitamin results at last
Hi all, I posted my thyroid blood tests back in January, but have been trying to get my vitamins tested via the surgery with no success, so I've just forked out for a Blue Horizon test and the results and ranges are as you can see above with the 'normal' protocols of no Levo for 24 hours, no biotin for

Medichecks advice about B12 and Biotin
Edit! I see that I myself asked this same question a few months ago! Going mad or I claim brain fog! heh. Sorry. https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/148331302/medichecks-thyroid-test-and-b12 Medichecks have told me to stop Biotin 2 days before a test and B12 two weeks before a test

Tinnitus
Hi everyone. I’ve had tinnitus for about…..I’d say 25 years.? Started in the left (high pitched but ignorable for the most part) but about 4 months ago went over to the right. This one is much more obtrusive and sounds like someone’s hosing down a yard. A real pain in the ass and intuitively I feel that

Lyme Disease
Hello, I hope everyone is feeling as well as possible. Can I ask about links between Lyme Disease and RA? What is actually known? My daughter was talking about ticks the other day (we are both walkers) when I said I had had (in my late teens) a bullseye mark from a tick on my leg, she said ‘well that

Shingles Vaccine
I have RA and am currently taking hydroxychloroquin, methotrexate and amgevita. I’m trying to work out whether at age 61 with a compromised immune system, I will qualify for the new shingrix (shingles non-live) vaccine on the NHS? Does anyone know?

First Thyroid Test in 13 Years - Could someone give me a second opinion as to whether these are good results please?
Hi, I am new to this forum and have found it very helpful - thanks! This is my first post. Would someone mind kindly casting their eye over my test results please? I had a right-side thyroidectomy in 2005 followed by annual thyroid blood tests at the hospital for five years. I was told by the consultant

DBS lead placement options.
Morning all. I had a zoom meeting with my neurosurgeon the other day. I’m pretty sure that she stated she was going for the STN as the site for leads. In my typical blokey way I just nodded along accepted whatever she said. But reading up on lead placing, I’m getting the distinct impression that for

DBS levadopa challenge. Glad its over, but it does raise a question.
Just left hospital after my levadopa challenge assessment for DBS.Wow, i wasn't prepared for how I'd be after having no meds since 7pm last night. I can honestly say I appreciate my meds so much more now. My normal day starts at 4:30am when i take my Stalevo 125mg. I'm very slow, shakey, and have some

High iron & Low B12, maybe? New labs interpretation please
Apologies for what will probably be a long post... Recently I've been feeling pretty hypo (crap) - the usual stuff, fatigue, knackered all the time, low mood, no interest in things, hair falling out, but also with a few worsening symptoms - including cognitive decline, and by that I mean like short

Armour versus Levo
Hi, I have recently gone through a stressful period and my FT3 has dropped from 5.6 to 3.5. (TSH is 0.06 and Free Thyroxine is 11.8). I have hashis as Thyroglobulin antibodies are 258 and TPO 303. I am on the AIP diet, all testing is done before 9am, fasting, no vitamin b or biotin containing supplements

Adrenals, DHEA, Biotin, and insomnia query!
Does anyone know much about adrenals please and can help with a query I have in Dr P’s book? I am trying to improve my DHEA which is below range, and I believe may be contributing to my chronic insomnia Dr P talks about supporting the adrenal cascade directly. He said it requires pregnenalone, DHEA

Shingles vaccine
Just seen the BBC news health website. Shingles vaccines being offered to over 65’s ( was 70) and, even better, to vulnerable immune suppressed people over 55 from September 2023.
