Remdesivir study finally published – an expert in critical care medicine gives us his verdict.
The results of the ACTT-1 trial, which looked at the effectiveness of remdesivir as a treatment for COVID-19, have finally been published. So far the only drug that has been shown to reduce deaths from the disease has been dexamethasone, a steroid that suppresses the immune system through its anti-inflammatory

Bloating, nausea and tingling
I’ve recently tapered to 1 mg having delayed my taper due to hip surgery 12 weeks ago. I seemed to have no classic PMR symptoms but over the past few weeks have been very windy, tingling hands and feet and lately feelings of nausea. I spoke to my gp and didn’t mention the tingling as I first thought

PSA hit double digits, business is better, it is hospice for my brother, and I had a 2 hour and 10-minute elliptical session. 10.6 miles.
I spent a good deal of time discussing my brother about four months ago. I won’t revisit in detail. We only have a couple of months to go. I am sad and it is stressful as hell. I am a recruiter, and suddenly, I have several assignments, which is excellent, though very time-consuming. To be sure, this

Side effects of RCD Chemotherapy
I have undergone 2 cycles of rituximab, cyclophosphamide and dexamethasone (RCD) chemotherapy. This alternative therapy was decided by treating Hematologist after discontinuing Ibrutinib due to intolerance. Now after every cycle of RCD, I am experiencing extreme pain in my joints and having weakness

Undiagnosed: Would dexamethasone shots help if it were PMR?
Y’all already helped with one question, so I’ll try another. Due to at first misdiagnosed hip bursitis, I received steroid shot in hip bursa last year. Got some relief, but everything came back. Further testing and they think OA and hip degeneration. So I took conservative approach and get intraarticular

PSA went from 0.05 to 0.07
My dad’s PSA has been rising as he is on Zytiga, the doctor is switching him from prednisone to dexamethasone to see if the PSA stabilizes. Anybody had success with this switch? Is this a good route to go? I should add that the doctor switched him from getting tests every month to every two months, so

Did anyone experience severe headaches with Promacta?
Hello, I am a nineteen year old girl who has been recently diagnosed with ITP. Just last week I started my second round of Dexamethasone and I also started taking 25 mg of Promacta. But just yesterday, I started to get severe tension headaches on the back of my neck. I called my nurse and she told me

Hope to be helpful
If you’ve not read my old post with details I’ll summarize. I’ve had melanoma for 9 years, stage 1 boosted to stage 3 practically immediately and was excised along with my right ear. Entered a trial treatment which has since been approved, Ipilimumab. For a few years after I continued my foolish behavior

Adult-onset asthma and Cushing
Hi all! Firstly I'm Asian and not from UK, but we don't have forums like these in my country. Just would like some advice on current situation. I had adult onset asthma since start of 2019 and it became so bad I would wake up at 3am breathless and vomiting. I was placed on Seretide 25/50, 2 in morning

Zytiga with dexamethasone
My husbands zytiga seems to be losing its efficacy. Has anyone had success in changing from prednisone to dexamethasone? And if so how much longer did you get to stay on the Zytiga? Just wondering as I have read about many men changing to dexamethasone but I haven’t read success stories. Thank you!
