Bowel Incontinence
Hello, At 16 I was diagnosed with Diverticulitis. When I was 30 I was told I have Spastic Bowel Syndrome (which I think is IBS) after having a Barium Enema. I have just turned 45 and over the last few months I've been having increasingly more frequent bouts of Bowel Incontinence and feel I have no choice

Better to have anxiety or be addicted to tranquillisers?
It just crossed my mind that one very effective treatment for anxiety are the benzodiazepine tranquillisers like Valium and Ativan. I know they are highly addictive but I also know they have relieved my chronuc anxiety and depression in the past within a half hour of taking. So it crossed my mind whether

The Doctor. The Alcohol. And The Valium...
So I am presently in Yorkshire visiting Family. Yesterday, I was walking through sunny Skipton and suddenly felt my chest hurt, I was dizzy and I couldn't breathe properly, as this was all very new and exciting I opted to visit the doctor, and on account of that, I finally have a diagnosis to why I have

Montelukast & coordination problems
I started on Montelukast in late October, and some time between then and the middle of December I developed a bad tremor that mostly affects my hands and arms. I've also become extremely clumsy, regularly walking into stuff, and I drop things without warning. My hands frequently seize up, and then I

Diagnosed as hypothyroid in Jan 2013. Have just got some blood tests back and very disappointed to see that my white blood cell count has once again dipped - 2.9 (4.0-11.0). My Neutrophil count is 1.3 (2.0-7.5). I have also over the last several months been treated for anaemia, but that picture has

should I have surgery?
I have suffered with gastric reflux for 18 months at least and have had omeprazole and zantac. My gp wanted me to have an endoscopy a year ago but I didn't want it done but two weeks ago she suggested I should have it done. They found an hiatus hernia, duodenitis and a tumour, most probably malignant

At last, doctor has started me on a trial of Levothyroxine 25mg so I am on the first step of the ladder
I went to doctors this morning and I sat while she looked through all my tests results since last October and she was still insisting my Thyroid wasn't to blame and what did I think would make me better. I told her the symptoms that were the worst and that she said at my last visit she would start

If you can't face the thought of having a colonoscopy...
...go for the alternative which is a virtual version called CT colonography. The procedure is available on the NHS, but I think you have to fight your corner to get one done. The following info is from NICE: 'CT colonography is used to examine the colon and rectum, and detect abnormalities

Adrenal Supplement
Started this as a simple question and on writing it down it morphed into a bit of a muddled offload. If you could persevere I would be eternally grateful. Here’s the question: Does anyone have any experience of “Adrenal Gland Concentrate” described in the brochure of the company as “a high potency

Anxiety and your HEART
i am afraid to sleep in case I never wake up. I'm not having palpitations, but I'm uncomfortably aware of my heartbeat and the physical presence of my heart in my chest. Should I phone a friend or dial 999? What if it's a false alarm and I end up spending hours in A&E for nothing, like I did last
