First course of steroids

I feel like I’m starting to improve after seeing a local doctor (who prescribed levofloxacin, Prednisolone, pulmiben, kestine, avamys and upping my Fostair to 8 hourly). I’m curious, having not been prescribed prednisolone before, how the pred prescription compares to any UK protocols?

Avamys Nasal Spray

Avamys Nasal Spray Good afternoon everyone, I have recently been prescribed by my Respiratory Nurses the above Nasal Spray to help my allergies and sinus problems. It seems to be working ok. I also use Oxygen 24/7 and have been advised that if it gives me nose bleeds I have to stop using it.

Avamys ..... yes or no??

I have been prescribed Avamys nasal spray for about 10 years now. Recently my nose has become sore and itchy, and I wonder if I ought to stop using it for a while .... and if there is another, equally effective, substitute I could replace it with . I’d be interested to hear your opinion.

Uncontrolled asthma

I was admitted again 4 days ago and am currently on more steroids, with Montelukast and Carbosysteine now added to my meds furthermore from tomorrow a nasal spray, Avamys. I am still wheezing and crackling!

My first post, how can I manage sleeplessness caused by asthma?

I'm on carbocisteine, montelukast (I note others have reported this being associated with sleep disturbance), flutiform, salamol, azithromycin and avamys.

Life with Ectopics - 20 years old

I should probably also mention that I suffer with hyperhidrosis in my hands, moderate facial acne (I have been on lymecycline and use duac cream), and postnasal drip (treated with Avamys nasal spray).

Newly diagnosed - my story

I was given inhalers for asthma and over the months these were up'd to the highest strength steroid inhalers the GP could give me, along with oral steroids (x4 courses) and antibiotics (x4 courses) also added Montelukast, avamys (for chronic rhinosinusitis).

Allergic / nocturnal asthma

Currently take fostair 200/6 twice morning & night, montlukast, anti-histamine and avamys steroid nasal spray before bed. I do everything I can to prevent these flare ups but annoyingly I've had to get used to waking up coughing and needing my reliever at least 3 or 4 nights a week, sometimes more.

Adrenal insufficiency: a general information post (does not replace medical advice)

EDIT: I've now been asked to stop my Avamys nasal spray for *72* hours before the test; the others are the same so far.

Uniphyllin?

I also take spiriva, symbicort 400/12 - twice a day, ventolin, lansoparzole and Avamys. However I’ve been on those for years so can’t imagine any of those causing it. I’ve not had a nebuliser and not needed to take my ventolin for the past few days. Thanks in advance

Anyone On Dymista?

So, I am currently taking Dymista spray due to severe hay fever and eustachian tube dysfunction, I was prescribed this a year ago but was previously on Avamys.

Intrinsic asthma and non allergic rhinistis.

I have horrible rhinistis to the point I'm mouth breathing most of the time and I've been prescribed avamys which didn't work and now dymista which makes me feel ill and unblocks my nose very little, my asthma feels worse with this, I take symbicort twice a day.

Does anyone have experience with treating chronic post nasal drip, sore throat, congestion?

I have so far tried over the counter steroid nasal spray, Avamys (GP prescribed steroid spray), saline sinus rinse and steaming. So far though nothing has provided any relief. I’m not sure what the cause is (e.g allergy, inflammation).

Allergy Testing

I was prescribed Pred, Fostair, Montelukast and Avamys and am on a waiting list for an injection. Now I just have a puff or two of ventalin when I get wheezy and I'm fine. The thing is after four years of NHS and BUPA care they did not test for this.

NEW MEMBER. ASTHMA AND A LOT OF DOUBTS

Using Avamys for this, but don't seem to do anything. A nasal band aid works better for me... My treatment was: Seretide 25/125 + ventolin on demand + singulair 4mg. Cetirizine in the case of alergic. I started seretide in 2011. But my problem is that usually I have a lot of mucus from my chest.
