Avamys Nasal Spray

Good afternoon everyone, I have recently been prescribed by my Respiratory Nurses the above Nasal Spray to help my allergies and sinus problems. It seems to be working ok.

I also use Oxygen 24/7 and have been advised that if it gives me nose bleeds I have to stop using it.

I just wondered if anyone else used it? and if they found it helpful too?

Hi Joseph, I use avamys nasal spray (but not on oxygen) and I find it really helpful! It’s really helped heaps with my PN drip which in turn has helped chest infections and sinus infections, which in turn has kept me out of hospital for a couple of years with severe asthma attacks.

I hope it continues to really help you too!

I was prescribed it years ago for hay fever. It works for me, but I have been warned not to overuse it (after years of using it), so I keep it for when the pollen count is high.

I tried it for a year or so but it didnt do anything for me. If its working for you then great, keep you eye out for nose bleeds x

Interesting, as I've had 10 nose bleeds whilst using the nasal spray and I'm also on O2 24/7. The nose bleeds come with or without using the nasal spray and I only use that when a large amount of runny nose is on the attack.Good to get peoples thoughts and experiences. Wishing you well. 🐿x

Hello Joseph, I am prescribed Avamys nasal spray for rhinosinusitis. I have been using it on and off for a few years now. I find it works much better than some of the other nasal sprays I have been given in the past. Best wishes.
