Avamys ..... yes or no??

I have been prescribed Avamys nasal spray for about 10 years now.

Recently my nose has become sore and itchy, and I wonder if I ought to stop using it for a while ....

and if there is another, equally effective, substitute I could replace it with . I’d be interested to hear your opinion. Thanks in advance .

Not heard of medication you are taking but a good source of advice can be given by your pharmacist. Have a chat with them about it. They will definitely know if there is a similar medicine available.

Good idea. Why did I not think of that. I bet you the pharmacist will be MUCH easier to get hold of than the Doctor ‼️

I used to have horribly blocked sinuses (for years). If they ever became sore I would check with my GP in case I had an infection and needed antibiotics. And if you do need to stop your nasal spray as the ingredients are now causing problems/side effects rather than an infection, then your doctor can consider an alternative medication such as Montelukast or a prescribed antihistamine, which can be taken orally.
