Hi Joliet. Sorry I can’t be of any help. Maybe medication changes? Biologics? Just guessing really. There are people here who have had this test, so hopefully they will be along shortly to give a more informed opinion. I just wish drs would keep us informed with a “depending on the results of the test we will x, y or z” .

Before you see the consultant ring the asthma UK helpline on 0300 2225800, office hours.

Ask them to help you to work out what to say to the consultant.

The obvious thing for the consultant to work out is if you are eligible for biologics and to do a meds review, re chest infections, correct asthma inhaler, and add ons, eg if montelukast is an idea.

I presume the consultant has already done ct scan, x Ray, full spirometry, to check nothing else is going on other than asthma

I had a similar mannitol result, which confirmed my diagnosis as severe asthma with poor control, and my consultant did a meds review and maxed my alvesco to 640, referred me to physio again, and cardiac to check for cardiac asthma. However one note of caution, he later said a strong mannitol result was also an indicator for vocal chord dysfunction, which is another four month wait to talk to someone and then many more months if they decide to test for it, for me I think this is a red herring.

A hard work consultant is always a pain, so get prepared as you are doing. I mainly do this by ringing a nurse at asthma UK beforehand, particularly for meds suggestions, as there so many different meds.

There’s a new triple out called Breztri Aerosphere. Basically Symbicort with the added long Atrovent type drug that Spiriva is without all the sinus infections and other nasty side effects that Spiriva can cause
