Post Ablation Diagnosis
I have been very fortunate and had my Afib ablation in Leicester in May. I had excellent treatment with very minimal side effects from the procedure and am back doing exercise and best of all, no episodes of Afib - so all very positive even though it is very early days. My follow up appointment is in

Heart disease and jelly legs

Calling all patients who have had a heart valve surgery or a TAVI
Hello lovely ones! Some of you may know me already - I had a 2x CABG last Jan, aged 34. Well today is my 36th birthday! I am happy and healthy :D The reason I am posting is that I am hopefully moving in to the world of cardio industry, I was previously in clinical nutrition and artifical feeding.

How can I manage persistent AF
I am in UK and have had paroxysmal AF for a few years and was prescribed Flecainide and Bisoprolol but also had a Pacemaker fitted in July 2020 because of a low resting heart rate (normally 50 but loop recorder showed some drop to mid 30s overnight). Any periods of AF I’ve had up to now have been 5/

Short pulse like pain in chest
occasionally ( say once a month at most) I get a short spell of pulse like ripples of discomfort in chest ( normally left side). They last 2/3 seconds at most and over say a 10 min period. They aren’t always associated with just having eaten/drink and are t accompanied by sternum pain. I have had an

Change from Apaxiban to Edoxaban?
Surgery rang this Saturday(!) afternoon. Asked whether I would agree to switch from to Edoxaban. Over 4 years I have not had any side effects from Apixaban nor have tests revealed any problems. Has anyone made this switch? Also, the nurse said the advantage was that I would only take one pill, instead

pulsing discomfort in chest
I have been diagnosed with oesophagitis following a endoscopy. From time to time I get what I can only describe as uncomfortable ( not hugely painful) radiating pulses in my chest ( normally left side but not exclusively). They last say 2/3 seconds but in waves of about elapsed time of say 10–15 mins

Now need a stent or bypass
I posted on here a bit ago that I have been tired and out of breath ever since my 5th ablation last August. My cardiologist put it down to the Bisoporol I was taking but 3 months ago after seeing him and complaining he sent me for a ultrasound scan. All was OK then I wrote to him saying I am not

Mitral Valve Prolapse and Hypothyroidism
Is Mitral Valve Prolapse associated with Hypothyroidism? If so, Is the condition common? I was diagnosed with a mild MVP 30 years ago and Hypothyroidism . 15 years later. Until I started taking Levothyroxine I had panic attack type episodes. I have never had any check ups for the MVP. Thanks

shoulder and arm pain after heart bypass
My friend had a quadruple bypass 4 weeks ago. He's had trouble with pins and needles in his arms and hands. The last 4 days a lot of pain in shoulders and arms which has lead to loss of sleep. He also has a cough. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Post pace and ablate
Hi everyone…..I said I would do a follow up after leaving hospital for AV node ablation. I was kept in hospital for four extra days because of breathlessness which was pretty extreme. Eventually was allowed to go home still not feeling too good. I think they did every test possible to find

This is normal after a heart bypass, isn't it?
My husband had a bypass on Friday, a double if that makes a difference. 3 nights in ICU, chest infection, exhaustion and gibbering nonsense. Today moved into HDU and was so much more alert, talkative and seemed like his old self. Just had him on the phone to me, worried they were giving him too many

New to this
I had a hba1c test a couple of weeks ago and it came back as 48mmol had another one last week and it came back as 47mmol. I had a heart attack last December and open heart surgery in January could this be linked or something different? What changes do I need to make? Tia

Aunt not following commands after waking-up
My aunt underwent a clot removal heart surgery and she woke on the next day, but the ICU staff are telling us that she is not following any commands. She is still intubated, because of this and will undergo a CT scan tomorrow. I wanted to ask: Am I expecting too much too early as I've seen some posts

Dental extraction.
My question is regarding dental extraction. At the end of this month, I am due to have four dental extractions: Two stumps (it’s a long story); the root of a crown which came off recently and where there is insufficient root left to re-join the crown; and a leaking abscess which appeared the day before

I have been on this journey of chronic pelvic pain for 3 years now . I had 2 surgeries trying to fix my PN based on findings of imaging . The surgeries did nothing to help at all. I work in the medical field myself so I thought that there absolutely HAD to be something structurally wrong with me. The
