Heart disease and jelly legs

Hi. I have been diagnosed with bradycardia and av block recently. I also get a missing heart beat and dizzy. I am seeing the cardiologist at the end of the month. I have noticed a few times that I suddenly lose strength in my legs and feel like I am about to full down. I did hurt my back two weeks ago and its only since then that I have had this issue. I was wondering if it was to do with my back or heart?Any information or ideas would be great.

Thank you.

Hi spedyrecovry50

It's hard to know what it could be, given your recent diagnosis it could be to do with that? The jelly legs sounds like what happens to me if I have been on mine too long or just happens randomly. Have you seen your gp about your back?? It could be a combination of both heart and back x

One suggestion I can make, based purely on my own experience, not on any medical knowledge, is to ask your GP to test your thyroid.I've had serious back problems for years, and heart issues more recently, I have been getting the jelly legs you mention. Muscular weakness is one of the symptoms of a thyroid disorder. A simple blood test can clarify if that could be the problem in your case.

Great advice. I have been experiencing the same problems. I have been experiencing jelly legs for the last 3 weeks or more. I went to the doctors to talk to them about what's been going on and the first thing they said " how's your Anxiety been lately" I went back to my doctors the following week to see someone else and they booked me in for bloods to be taken, which they have been now done, just waiting for the results of my thyroid to see what's been going on. Take care

Well done. I was diagnosed with sub-. clinical hyperthyroidism more than 10 years ago and apart from sporadic blood tests it has been ignored, and I have been refused a referral to endocrinology. One GP told me that even at a subclinical level it could lead to heart problems, but as recently as June this year I was still being told no referral was neccesary. Looked at the NICE guidelines and I should have been referred years ago. I must admit that now I'm being a bit petty and making sure everything is now being done according to the guidelines.Hope you get your problems sorted out.
