VSA treatment options

I'm currently being treated for vasospastic angina using a combination of metoprolol and nifedipine at relatively low doses (50mg daily and 30mg daily respectively) but not noticing any improvement from previous treatment using verapamil only. I'm just wondering if anyone else is or was on a similar treatment and if this is or was effective.

Thanks,

Hello,

I have lived with Vasospastic angina for many years.

The usual treatment is with Calcium Channel blockers and nitrates such as isosorbide mononitrate extended release and GTN spray.

Beta blockers are not usually used as they can make vasospastic angina worse.

The BHF has this information about Vasospastic angina.
