Giant Cell Arteritis
Hi, can someone help with describing what the double vision element is with GCA? Most of the time my eye sight feels ok... except at certain distances say watching a game of football I see two copies of the player.. if I close one eye it’s ok! Also when driving I don’t necessarily see two cars as I wouldn

PMR/GCA vs differential diagnosis- First rheumatologist visit- United States
I am scheduled to have an MRA next week to look for extracranial giant cell
arteritis
. He has also ran a whole host of other tests looking for other potential differential diagnosis. So far I am very pleased. He did order me a 90 day supply of prednisone and is not trying to yank me off it.

Kate Gilbert’s book. Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Giant Cell Arteritis: a survival guide. 2nd edition.
I just had to write to say how good this book is and I couldn’t recommend it more highly. I know many of you will already know it well but I’ve only just read it and apart from finding it full of useful information I was surprised at how enjoyable it was to read. I hadn’t bothered with it earlier in

The Salt Room ...
Hi Everyone, thought I would tell you about what has happened to me over the last couple of days. I have been travelling quite well on 6 mgs of pred and tocilizumab jabs weekly and some girlfriends invited me to come along with them to “The Salt Room”. It sounded fab, described as a cure for all sorts

Pain from PMR or Osteoarthritis?
I was diagnosed with PMR 6 years ago, and got down to 5mg Pred about 3 years ago. I’ve tried to go lower but never succeeded. I am nearly 84 and also suffer from Osteoarthritis. how my visit with my rheumatologist went today
I had a telemedicine visit with my rheumatologist today. Since I've shared my history and asked for advice here in the recent past, I thought I'd share how it went. The visit went almost a half hour (one of the things I like about my rheumatologist is that he doesn't try to rush my visits). I shared

what vitamins, minerals are good for joint pain linked to hypo.?
In 2018 my hypo symptoms, many years after RAI (in 2010) -- some weight gain and tiredness -- worsened quickly, starting with stiff finger joints. Then in one month I gained 7 kilos while eating very lightly. 2 months later, back pain from stiffness. So I know it's not due to arthritis. My last endo
