Atrial flutter newly diagnosed
Hello, I’ve been diagnosed with Atrial Flutter after my first episode of palpitations 2 days ago. I’m on blood thinners and heart tablets and waiting to see a cardiologist. Up until it happened I’ve had a lot of ectopic beats and still getting them. Feeling really down and scared about it. Anyone else

ET diagnosis without biopsy
Hi, I have just been given a diagnosis of ET, and have to decide on treatment choice: Inferon or Hydroxycarbamide. I have already been taking aspirin and have high blood pressure. I am a bit in shock, trying to find out what I can. I have had elevated platelets since 2010....It was last year that

Is it safe to stop taking apixaban for a fortnight without replacing with a similar drug?
Hi Mum had a fall and was taking warfarin to avoid blood clots to which she is prone. Hospital stopped the warfarin and she had a stroke at A&E. They gave her injections in her tummy for a while and then apixaban twice a day. She has had an all over body itch (no rash) especially in the hot spot areas

1 year post ablation
Saw my EP today for the 1 year follow up post-ablation. I've had no episodes and flutters and ectopic beats have improved in the last few months. He's told me to stop taking my anticoagulant (Apixiban) and the beta blocker (Bisoprolol), which I am delighted about (whilst also being nervous of any change

Husband's new brain bleed made him regress :(, severe anxiety, fear of heights... anyone else?
My husband's anoxic brain injury from cardiac arrest happened 11 months ago. He's 69, living at home with me and our adult daughter. In some ways his recovery has been remarkable (he can walk, his speech and personality are intact, he even retained his musical gifts), but he still has very severe memory

Blood Thinners
Hi everyone, I’m not in treatment yet, as my WBC is 33, lymph’s 87, minor lymph nodes, platelets normal range, nevertheless I am concerned as I understand there are treatment restrictions if you are on blood thinners. What treatment options currently exist for CLL if you are on blood thinners? I am

Runner with AF and HCM
I am a keen runner, well was. 10 days ago I had just started out on a run, 5 minutes in to my run I was struggling to breath and had chest pains. I went home and my wife took me into a walk in centre. To cut a long story short I ended up in hospital, several ECGs, MRI, Echos and an angiogram I was diagnosed

Ablation and blood thinners
Understanding that we are all different, been reading various opinions on anticoagulation of females who have 2 points ,age and sex, following ablation. Should this be continued for life or stopped if ablation were to be successful?

ECG on Monday for AF - I'm anxious - Advice sought
The GP has booked me in for an ECG on Monday (2 days away) and blood tests (as he is already thinking of prescribing
anticoagulants
). He has also booked me in for a heart scan early in the New Year. He believes it is AF.

Frustrated
So now get a letter as follow up from Rheumatologist. Bloods are mainly normal but now instead of anticardiolipin antibody I now have positive Lupus anticoagulant to go along with low vitamin D. With reference to further tests - ENT for nasal ulcers have another at least 5 month wait, however I am thinking

ideas on managing Chemo induced peripheral neuropathy
Hi ladies, and gents. I have a question to those who suffer from neuopathy. How do you manage or sooth it? Mine isn't horrible but is definitely stopping me from a lot of activities because I'm going to pay for it later that night. Everything I read is about B12 deficiency.. I take plenty of B vitamins

Life expectancy
I find if you go on the internet it can be quite scary if you read about AF it can lead to heart damage and other complications. Is this a real concern or as long as we are controlling Af like I am with medications anticoagulant and keeping BP done and diabetes type 2 under control it is not necessarily
