Hello!! Happy new year everyone! Does anyone have any thoughts on this pls...I have a Pulmonary embolism and right atrium thrombus in October and since then i’ve also have atrial fibrillation. So i’m on daily heparin (tinzaparin) injections. I’m 35, and I was told i might have to stay on the blood thinners for life. I really don’t want that. And i’m hoping getting fitter (improving heart and ling funtion), eating healthy, de-stressing, and taking natural blood thinners like garlic, cod liver oil, turneric, ginko, etc...would be enough to lower my chances of another blood clot without the side effects of pharmaceuticals. Plus hoping the AFib would stabilise as well since I never had it before all this happened. Any thoughts/ideas/personal experiences are welcome!

Any thoughts on AFib (+clots) and blood thinners?
With your medical issuess it would seem eminently sensible to accept the medical profession's advice. " Blood thinners" is not a godd description of anticoagulants as they don't thin tbe blood but slow the clotting mechanism a bit. The isuue wuith " natural" anticoagulants is they are just as potent but you have no idea if you are taking too much or not enough.
Getting fitter is always a good ploy and in addition doctors have years of experience and training to help them make appropriate decisions where as we just bounce about using Mr Google sometimes with worrying consequences.
Are you on meds for AF? You might like to look at AFA forum on here too
@Bagrat said it best...I will add though - I had AFib w/RVR, then DVT/PE, and was eventually put on Warfarin for life. Natural products can be great, but as she said, you don't know the therapeutic range you're in...or not! This is too serious an issue to chance it. I didn't want to be on more lifetime meds, but I'd rather take anticoagulants amd lessen my chance for another DVT/PE or effects of AFib (stroke, heart attack due to clots) than to go through that again. Less risk (not 0%, but much less) of recurrent clots ON anticoagulants. Definitely discuss it with your medical professional, and best wishes to you!
