Let me tell you a story....
In Max's words, here's a tale of how the NHS is operating; Yesterday was already going well. One of my sons has norovirus in the house ,grandchildren all had it first then parents. Daughter in law suddenly had chest pains after repeated vomiting ( sorry if your eating your toast folks!) Almost collapsed

In May last year I started to get pain in my left calf and foot including toes.. I 65, 66 in October and am a very active non smoker. I have a BMI of around 19. Went to doctors and had bloods and a Basic Doppler test done which showed there was a problem with blood flow. Placed on Statin and anticoagulants

Hi, everyone, I am new here. I have had bouts of sciatica over the years but none have been as bad as this one. It has been going on for 6 weeks now. The first 4 weeks it affected my left side right down to my left big toe. I was able to walk, even though the pain caused some discomfort. I always

So very grateful for Thyroid UK
I just have to express my gratitude to this forum and the admins who give of their time to help us who are or have been floundering with NHS input (or lack of input+even dismissiveness of our thyroid journey) with regard to our thyroid and other connected issues. My son will be 48 this year and that’

PMR vs Fibro - follow up to my post
Thanks for all the comments on my first post. It was very helpful. So I put in an e consult to make an appointment with doc for review of my PMR and pred dosage. I arrived at the surgery and discovered that I actually had an appointment with the physio, not the doc. So much for AI! 🙄 Anyway, we

Adenomyosis and hysterectomy
Hi, I was diagnosed with Adenomyosis and signs of endometriosis in 2019, been on the hysterectomy waiting list for 2 years and now I’m booked for surgery on 5th March. Now it’s getting closer I’m getting nervous and would just like to hear from anyone who’s had a hysterectomy and how the recovery was

New here - looking for advice
Hi, I’m new here. I’ve suspected endo for about 12 years and am hoping that I’ll be getting clarity from my GP soon. Any info in the meantime would be super reassuring. I recently went for a scan and 3 endometriomas were noted. Does this confirm endometriosis? My GP ordered a CA-125. Do you know

Bowel obstruction with HGOC stage 4a inoperable
Hi, I haven’t posted in a long while but appreciate reading everyone’s advice and support to everyone else. I had 3 attempts at surgery last year including the last with Christina F but all were unsuccessful due to extensive miliary disease on the bowel. I went back on 2 chemos so I could start on

Post ICD Implant-week 2
Hi all, I was hoping to get some feedback/advice from ideally ladies who have undergone ICD implant surgery. Today marks two weeks from getting an ICD. It is placed under the muscle and towards my armpit, over my left breast. I have been slowly building up some movement and a walking routine back

Artificial Urinary Sphincter? Finding a surgeon and understanding recovery?
I am at the point where, after my prostatectomy, salvage radiation and sling implant, my incontinence has gotten bad enough that I feel I need an Artificial Urinary Sphincter (AUS) I had the sling installed in January 2021. It worked for about a year and a half. I was never completely dry but usually
